I had a ham and cheese toastie(absolutely devine) and five Euro of Purple which was fantastically tasty and nice and mellow :) Purple was certainly my bargain of the trip, so tasty!

I got to Voyagers about 15 minutes before the T n T on Sunday. Mrs. HB recognized me from the day before, and now that they weren't so busy we had a nice chat. First I confirmed that the OG18 was the same beautiful batch from the night before. She said it was, and a good sniff confirmed it. I got a gram of that for the coffeeshop crawl then I asked for a recommendation, letting her know I was a little hazed-out, and asking if she had anything that had indica tendencies.

Voyager's OG18

"Not alot, but have you had our cheese yet?"

So Gouda. She pulled out the tub and all I could smell was ripe blueberries and creamy cheese. Sold! I sat at one of the stools in front of the window, pulled out my ACD map, and started rolling a fat joint of the cheese to kick off the TnT. Sweet cheese nose, hints of thyme and violettes, juicy ripe blueberries on the inhale, some oily cheese funk expresses itself on the exhale, with an increasingly cheese aftertaste. Soaring, stony, energetic. So good.

Just as I finished rolling the joint, A- wanders in. We exchange greetings. "Come share this with me." I said right as Gapie rolled up. (Hey A- I have no idea who you are on here, but pm me, k?)

We shared that joint, which everyone seemed to enjoy. Suddenly and slowly at the same time, I realized I needed another to kick-off the gathering. This is what I call an Amsterdam problem! So I started rolling a good bit of the OG18, setting a taste of it aside for my Mr's arrival the next morning.

People started pouring in for the T n T, but that is a story for another time.

I bought both. I was on vacation. Life is good, the CHF was strong. :D  :D

And, it was awesome to have good company to share them with, as I was missing my Mr, who is my usual partner in crime.

It was even awesomer to have them so expertly rolled. Thanks again for that Gapie.

In a few weeks Gapie, we'll chill again and you can teach me how to say ggggggg, and hopefully the dutch J too. Running into you over at 1e Hulp was the perfect ending to that crawl.

No, but I'm now dying to know if that's a person or an actual dog.

Everyone, everyone, if you like weed at all, try to talk James into selling you some of the OG18 Special Hash.

It is, hands down, the most amazing thing I've ever smoked.

That's all.

James is the proprietor of Basjoe's, and that's a tough question. I think it's hard to make any european your best bud in the space of a vacation. For them, friendship takes longer to build. (James' warmth is a quiet one, I've known him for years now and our friendship has grown slowly.) I think sometimes people hear about how much some of us love James and expect him to be super outgoing and in-your-face friendly and are disappointed. They don't get it, real friendship takes time.

The good news is that you don't need to make him your best bud to get his best bud.

That's one of my favorite things about Basjoe's, and why I recommend it freely. Even the most obnoxious customers get James' best recommendation, the best bud in the bag, and get to enjoy the sunny relaxed vibe of the shop.

How I would try to score some of the OG18 Pollinator, I'm not sure he's going to have on the menu until cup time.

1) If you're there multiple days, make it by Basjoe's early in your trip. James has a limited supply of this, and it tends to come and go. If you ask for it early though, and he can get his hands on it, he will try to keep it aside for your return.

2) Go in, grab some smoke and a coffee, and chill until he's not busy at the counter. When he has some down time, that's the time to pull up a stool. Mention you're from the Coffeeshop Directory, tell him you've heard amazing things about his OG18 Pollinator Hash from Amy, and ask if he might have some around for you. If he doesn't ask if he has some terminator.

Thanks for the nice words about the picture. Love photography, and it's fun to share some of my snaps.

I'll do an official write-up of the OG18 really soon. My camera only coughed up half the pictures from this trip before its lithium battery gave its last gasp. I've had to order a replacement (fucking alps) so I'm reporting on the things I have pictures of first.

More soon, my party peoples.

On Saturday late afternoon Hasj and I made our way over there to the Uke boutique after we finally put away the last of that huge 4-filter OG18/ BasSpec, OG Kush joint that Gapie rolled. Ohm and Tutti are really living the dream in Amsterdam. Their shop faces west, so they get the full glory of the setting sun over the canal in the late afternoon and early evening. The weather had been iffy all day, but was now breaking through and the weather was warming up pleasantly.

Basjoe's Bas Special (Sept 3 2011)

We passed around some bowls of hash, and I got to share some of the OG18 Pollinator with them. I really wanted to get to the grocery store, and eat a real meal before I headed out for my evening, so I buzzed off fairly quickly.

I wasn’t more than two blocks away before some physical sensation cut through my awesome, sunny, stoney buzz. I had to pee. Bad!

Fortunately 1e Hulp was right next to the tram stop. I wanted to see how they were doing over there anyway. I cut across to Marnixstraat and picked up my pace. When my eyes adjust to the pleasant shady coolness of the shop, who do I see but Gapie.

Gapie is alone (if you can believe that!) sitting in front of a clean huge roar, chatting with the budtender.

“I just got this sourD, try it with me!” says Gapie, pulling a bag out of his pocket. “O, this is my friend, Amy, from the forum.” The handsome male budtender nods hello to me.

“Awesome, I’m not in a hurry anymore.” I said to Gapie. Turning to the budtender I asked, “I’m just going to the bathroom first if that’s ok, then I’ll be back to see the menu?”

“Down the stairs.” Ladies, this guy has a cute smile. Coming back up the stairs, much relieved, I headed over to the bar.

“Here, here,” says Gapie, handing me a huge roar bong. “SourD. 8 euros. Pretty.” I took a hit big hit, savoring the rank steely lemon flavor on the exhale.

“Yum, Thanks.” I passed the bong back to Gapie and turned my attention to the menu.
