Scanners look for bombs/weapons. I doubt a little baggie of weed is going to alert anyone. Now if there is a dog sitting next to the machine there may be a problem.

I like your style soapy
The body scanner picked up a clean tissue I had in a pocket still. Anything on top of the body is pretty detectable.

My point was supposed to suggest and hopefully others will confirm unless I wrongly noticed is that when they do use the scanners in that area of the airport you are forced to go through them as there is no other passage through to the departure gates?. Thus you dont get a choice and protesting against them may mean a short detention to the point where you could miss your flight. For the record I'm not fully against them, just that when I seen them in use passengers never seemed to have a choice but to use them which is where the problem lies for me as there seems to be no standard detector with the frisk option if you did'nt want to use the body scanner!.

Alright Dave , in april after they had stopped going fucking nuts over your laptop/dvd player   (still not sure quite what was wrong , but i'm certain it helped my bag get through  ) yes they made us all go through the scanner , except 1 little girl travelling with her parents.
Sending out the good vibes to those that need them right now :-)

Yeah, that even worried me a little when they showed an unhealthy interest in what I had in my bag and wanted to examine the dvd player. Unless they were on high alert or something as I guess we dont really need to know to save a panic. Thankfully they never took the €50 toy out to examine I brought back for the gf  .

When i was flying out of Amsterdam i had been "hand searched" by an older guy in glasses at the security frame and as i noticed the search been done only on male passengers age from like 16 to 60 and no females been searched.
