Im a bit delayed in posting this but you know how it is when you get back from the Dam it takes a while to get back to normality.
But here is mine and the wife's trip report/weed list from our 1st wedding anniversary:
Thursday 18th August:
Arrived at Amsterdam central station at 6pm and headed straight to Voyagers and bought 1g of Amnesia Haze for 10 euro, we did not stay to smoke here as we wanted to check in to the hotel. We was booked to stay at Hotel Hortus which is by the the zoo and we also stayed here in febuary and had a blast there, a really relaxed hotel that you can smoke in to, so we booked a double room again back then for now but for some reason they had screwed the booking up and they put me and the wife in a room which had 3 bunk beds well as this was a our anniversary we did not fancy sleeping in seperate bunk beds so we had a bit of a battle getting them to change us to the correct room but after an hour of arguing they finally moved us and the holiday could begin. While waiting for the wife to get ready i rolled a fat dubi of the Amnesaia haze and WOW what a good start, it was a really smooth and tasty smoke and i felt all my stress just instantly leave my body.
We headed out about 9pm and after having a bite to eat at KFC we headed for the RLD and went to Hunters down Warmoesstraat, we have been to Amsterdam many times but for some reason we have never been to this coffee shop and all i can say is what a shame, it is a cracking cooffee shop, really low level lighting with fish tanks built in to the wall and really friendly staff, the bud tender was really helpful and and the drink prices are not to bad either, the menu had lots of choice on it ranging from about 8 euro up wards, we bought 1gm of Sensi Star for 9 euro it was not the best weed i have had but it was ok, a bit rough on the throat and not to much taste but it did the trick. We went for a stroll round the RLD and checked out some of the window girls ETC and and by this time it was 11pm so we decided to have a quick stop and we headed for the Bulldog Number 90 I know what most of you guys think of these coffee shops but me and my wife love em, i agree the weed is not the best but it is good to sit in and have a drink and smoke in and soak up some atmosphere, plus i LOVE the bulldog coffee's. Weed supllies where running low and it was getting late now and we was quite tired after our day of travelling so we decided to go back to Hunters and pick up some more weed and head to the hotal for a smoke, we bought 1gm of Super Silver haze for 11 Euro and 1gm of Maakaatik 11.50 euro. The super silver haze was really nice and tasty and got us absolutley baked, personally i did not like the Maakaatik very much but the wife did.
Friday 19th August:
We headed out about 11am and we went straigh to the Bluebird the wife had never been here before and she really wanted to see it, i had only ever been here once before and did not really think much of it but this time i found it to be quite nice and relaxing, plus it was not very busy, the bar staff was very friendly but the bud tender seemed a bit pre occupied and not very friendly but oh well maybe he was just having an off day, the menu was quite good though. We bought 0.8gm of Super Skunk for 7.50 euro.
After Lunch and a walk round a few shops ETC we decided it was time for more smoking and we both wanted to try somewhere we had never been before but one we knew would be good so after a bit of research on this web site we headed for Tweede Kamer we spent ages walking around trying to find this coffee shop with no luck so in the end we gave up, consulted ACD and the headed for Dutch Flowers we bought 1gm of Hawaian Haze for 12.50 euro an absolutely amazing smoke, so smooth and tasty and it got you to a really nice high, unfortunately we found the woman who was serving the weed to be really rude and obnoxious and the man who was serving the drinks to be about the same, TBH we fealt like it was an inconvenience to them to be there, we noticed that they where treating all the customers the same, we just had one drink and then left and made our way to Rembandt Square and we popped in to Old Amsterdam on a fly and by to get some Super Polm Hasish 1.2gm for 12 euro we have smoked this lots of times before and find it to be a really reliable hashish, we are not big hash smokers and whenever we buy it we are nearly always disappointed by it so we tend to stick with what we know.
In the eveing after dinner we headed back to the RLD and to Hunters where we bought some Chiesal Diesal 1gm for 11 euro and some Chocolope 1gm for 12 euro the chiesal Diesal was nothing special at all, it tatsted of nothing and didnt really add to my stonedness the Choclope on the other hand was really nice, we ended up staying there for a few hours listening to great selection of music they had playing, hunters was slowly becoming our favourite of the trip so far. After another stroll around the RLD for a couple of hours and checking out and sampling in a few of the naughty delights the RLD has on offer it was quite late so we ended up back in the Bulldog Number 90 where we bought some Amsterdam Diesel 1gm for 12 euro i know, i know, i know but i couldnt resist and it was nearly 1am and time was running out and i was starting to run low on weed so i thought fuck it and TBH i was pleasantly surprised about the quality, it was really tasty and was definately diesel and got you really stoned. After coffee shop kick out time we hit a couple of bars and smoked a bit more before heading back to the hotel for the night.
Saturday 20th August:
Headed out about 11am again and went straight to the Dampkring and bought some Devil's Brew 1gm for 12.50 euro like most stuff from the Dampkring it was really good quality and definatley delivered on it's promis of a very strong high, unfortunatley and this is not th firat time we have noticed this here but it was really cold inside the shop, i mean uncomfortable cold, we noticed this on our first vist in febuary but thought it was the time of year but this time it was no different, which is a shame as it is a great shop with really friendly staff but we coldnt sit there to long, we will go back again though. We took a walk down to Leidseplein Square and checked out a few shops on the way and then popped in to the Bulldog Palace and got some White Widow 1.7gm for 12 euro once again the quality was very good and you got what you expect from White Widow, we love it at this coffee shop when it is quiet as it my very 1st coffee shop ever 10 years ago and my wife's 1st last year so it is kinda of nostalgic for us.
After dinner we headed back to our favourite area, the RLD, back to Hunters and had a kinda one off weird experience there, the bud tender was some really hyper dude who although friendly enough proper tried up selling saying the buds where big and he did not want to break them, maybe thats true but i have never heard or experienced this at all and we ended up having 1.5gm of Heavens Haze for 19 euro i know we could of said no but we really wanted to try this weed as we had never had it before, to make matters worse it wasnt really all that, the taste was nothing special and it was a bit rough on the throat. After couple of hours we had a stroll around for a bit and popped in to Route 66 and picked up some NYC Diesel 1.3g for 15 euro this weed was a favourite of ours when we over last and we couldnt pass the shop without grabbing a bag, we was not dissapointed. My wife had never been in Amsterdam before on a saturday evening and she wanted to see what the night life was like so after showing her how packed the RLD main strip is and checking out a couple of peep shows for a giggle we decided we would pick up some weed and head over to the Melkweg Club in Leidseplein, so we popped back to Hunters and bought Super Silver Haze 1gm for 12.50 euro and Lemon Haze 1gm for 12.50 euro as can be expected the weed was top notch and delivered 100% on it's promise. We got to the Melkweg and was told that you can longer smoke weed in the actual club and had to do it in the smoking room at the back of the building, even pure weed joints, this was a right bummer and not what we wanted so we went to look for somewhere else and went in to the upstairs of the Bulldog Palace, i went next door quickly and grabbed an extra bag of weed Northern Lights 1.3gm 12 euro. We had a few cocktails and ended up really fucked up staying there until about 3:30am. The walk home was fun.
Sunday 21st August: ANNIVERSAY DAY
After a heavy night the night before we didnt go out until about 12 o'clock after some brekkie at a little cafe down bt the flower market we hot footed it to Hunters again and bought G13 Amnesia Haze 1gm for 12 euro and Hunters Special Hash 1g 8 euro the weed was excellent as usual and so was the hash like i said before we dont smoke much hash so we are quite fussy but this was really nice to smoke, it was really smooth and uplifting and an excellent start to the day. We wanted to take it a bit easy today and do some romantic stuff so we laid of the coffe shops for a while and just relaxed a bit taking some walks around areas we had not seen before.
After a nice romantic meal we went to Freeland in the RLD and bought Bubblegum 1gm for 12 euro, now we have been to this coffee shop loads of times in the past and never had any compliant abot the weed or the service but this time is a different matter, the weed had a dampish feel to it and would not grind up and when you smoked it the taste was awful and TBH we didnt not get much of a buzz of it, we dont like to complain so we just finished our drink and left and went back to Hunters and we bought Super Silver Haze 1gm for 12.50 euro and Choclope 1gm for 12 euro and 100% Sativa 1gm 16.50 euro and Cheese 1gm for 13 euro we had never had the 100% before and this was really nice, it was so uplifting and made us proper giggle like little school kids for ages the cheese was really nice to. I also bought a Pre Rolled Pure joint for 8 euro, i had never tried a pre rolled before and thought i would give it a go, it was ok but i prefer my own made ones. We too a walk around for a bit and went to the Bulldog Number 90 and chilled in front of the big open windows watching the people go by. After closing we hit a few bars until about 3 and had a few more cocktails and went back to the hotel, on the way back we walked past the Bluebird and the street was empty but then out of of no where we noticed loads and loads of people all standing around in groups of 2 or 3 or on there own, we just ignored them and carried on walking but we heard a few things shouted out to us in dutch but dont no what as we dont speak dutch and we both started to feel really uneasy and we was expecting some kind of trouble, maybe we was just paranoid as we was wasted but there was definately something about that area, nothing did happen though so all was good, we both said we will not walk back that way again though that late. Anybody else know of this area being a trouble spot late at night or a place to avoid???
Monday 22nd August:
The last day
All in all it was an amazing trip, the best coffe shop of the trip was by far Hunters the weed was nearly always top notch and the service from most the staff and budtenders was always really good to, it is a shame we had never been to this coffe shop before, but oh well, im sure we wil being going back lots more times. In fact our next trip is allready planned.
I hope you all enjoy our trip report and i have not waffled on to much.
