The Bulldog

Post by Willis »

Why do I get the feeling there is some sort of resentment to this place? Do locals or regular visitors to Amsterdam have a reason for disliking these places or is it just because they dislike tourists that frequent them?

Everytime I've been past a Bulldog it looks very boisterous. Not a comfortable atmosphere to relax (although I have mostly only been past on a Friday or Saturday night)

Last year, on my first an only trip so far, I spent a couple of perfect Monday morning hours in the sunny window seats of the old bulldog. We were two of about four people in the place & it was so incredibly chilled. Such a contrast to how unappealing it had looked the night before. I'm sure it's me being a tourist and easily pleased to boot but strikes me that they can't be all bad.

I think everyone should experiance the Bulldog just because they were one of the first, plus if the weeds anything like Twitchaldinho said then thats always a bonus:

Really.
I bought two 1.1 gram bags of Lemon Haze for €12 each. The bags smelt unreal. Like a lemon Serbert or something. I was served by an older lady who cracked up at my over the top reaction to the smell....Had to buy a lighter as mine was in the room. Grabbed a brew, and posted up at the conservatory. Just as I lit the doobie a fella with hair almost as long as mine emerged from the shop with a pre roll. He came over and asked, in broken English ( much like mine :D ) if I would like some company. Why not.....anyway, the dude was Italian, and we shared the same Name ( almost, he was Ricardo  ) and spliffs. Mine knocked him on his arse, his tasted a little Tabak heavy, but it was a pre roll.
Good morning Session.
