From my understanding the ban is the sale of any cannabis that has over 15% thc, the banning of foreigners was a differant kettle of fish all together as they were discriminating against people, saying weed that is over 15% is a hard drug and cant be sold isn't against any human rights which is (imo) why they've gone down this route, take a look at Greenhouse Seeds website and see how many strains are under 15%, I looked the other day and didn't see any (that I can think of).

Where to begin? It's been, what, 10 months since the wife and I visited Amsterdam (and it was, perhaps, one of the best of the trips we've been fortunate enough to take!) and we had already pretty much decided months ago that we would lay off visiting until this douche bag government goes away. Their treatment of coffeeshop culture is, oddly enough, lowest on my list. I said it before, I'll say it again... it wasn't the "legalization" of pot & hasj that sent me there, it was the society that ALLOWED it to flourish in the first place. Me & the wife always relished being around such an "advanced" culture that blended modern and traditional, gay & straight, stoned & sober so well that it seemed like EVERYONE was welcome. Now, they're anti-Muslim, anti-art, anti-Polish, anti-Romanian, anti-pot tourist, Auntie Em!

Off the top of my head, here are a few of my favorite whack-job proposals from the neo-Nazi Dutch:

BAN HEADSCARFS
BAN THE KORAN
BAN THE BURKA
KICK OUT AFGHANI CHILDREN WHO HAVE LIVED IN NETHERLANDS 90% OF THEIR LIVES (ok, they wound up letting the girl stay after much debate but...)
FORCE ANTI-SOCIAL KIDS & THEIR FAMILIES TO LIVE IN SEPARATE "VILLAGES" FOR UNDESIRABLES
DEPORT NON-DUTCH LIVESTOCK (NO MORE SCOTTISH CATTLE PLEASE)
KICK OUT UNEMPLOYED POLES (EVEN IF THEY'VE WORKED IN NL FOR YEARS)
KICK OUT ROMANIANS
ELIMINATE RED LIGHT DISTRICT
ELIMINATE 30% TAX BENEFIT FOR UNDER 50,000 EURO (DON'T WANT GLORIFIED WOK CHEFS)
ELIMINATE 30% TAX BENEFIT FOR TOWNS NEAR BORDER
STOP POLES FROM EATING THE FISH THEY CATCH
CLOSE COFFEESHOPS NEAR SCHOOLS
ELIMINATE NON-DUTCH FROM COFFEESHOPS

Now... ban strong pot? See, they love to claim that they're still all liberal and progressive (we're still pro-gay, see? we're still cool with Jewish folk, right? we still want pot decriminalized, just not so strong, ok?) but they're full of shit and I've had enough. To think of ALL the "talking to" the wife and I got when the US elected our own D Bag George W from the locals. "You better vote for the right candidate next time" we were chastised by a bicycle cab driver before the last election.

Yeah right, speak for yourselves!

Next vacation? A couple of weeks in Cali.. already built up a contact (can always use another - wink wink!) rent a car, smoke nice buds, and see the Tarentino side of LA!

FUCK 'EM, SMOKE AT HOME - VISIT POT FRIENDLY US STATES

Sorry for the vent :( :(

So does anyone know if each city/municipality can decide to ignore this if they wish? Like the weed pass, or would this law have to be followed throughout the whole of the netherlands?

Will this law affect hash and ice-o-later? That might wipe out a lot of hash selection on top of the better bud. I'm almost grateful that it's illegal where I live so they can't regulate and neuter quality and potency. I was hoping to continue visiting Adam and even live in it part time when I retire but now I'll have to see after I visit this spring. Damn these party poopers! Without sex and drugs Adam only has architecture, history and museums. I've seen all that. I want to get stoned out of my skull on the most potent bud and hash I can find and then try to avoid getting run over by bicycles, trams and cars as I try to negotiate my way through the narrow streets. :D

That was also my first thought (well, other than @*$(£$":±!!! those idiots).
I assume that all hash would have to be removed from sale.

I've been visiting Amsterdam two or three times a year since 1987, so I have seen everything that there is to see at least a dozen times.
Without their coffeeshops, I might as well stay home and grow my own and start visiting other places that I've never seen.

It's so asinine allow some right-wing idiots to shoot your own economy in the foot.
They are as bad as the tea baggers in the US or the Muslim extremists that they hate.
Even in the US, the Obama admin is now trying to screw around with the mj pharmacy system in California, which has been operating almost 15 years.
What the fuck is wrong with these politicians?
They allow booze, which causes all sorts of social and personal problems and the deaths of tens of thousands each year in accidents but they still have a Reefer Madness mentality when it comes to pot.
I suspect that there are some powerful special interests like the pharma or tobacco companies behind all of this hysteria.

They are "talking" about this like they were "talking" about the weitpass in Amsterdam.

This is so impractical that I really doubt it will ever happened.

USBL- spoon will "become" legend? I think it already seems pretty legendary.

Great White Shark 14.94%
Himalayan Gold 12.70%
Diamond Girl 14.99% ( )
Arjan's Haze 2 12.89%
Arjan's Haze 3 13.29%
Greenhouse Thai 13.92%
NL5 Haze Mist 14.64%

There's not a lot, but there's a few (not that this information is much of an indication as to the potency of any given bud you see in a coffeeshop).

Will this matter much for the average smoking tourist? The weed there is so strong anyway, a little more of a 14% weed in a joint will help?
