The special looking or best looking coffeeshops???

So far we've been to Central Station, Rockerij (near The Doors), Betty Boop, Any Day, Grey Area, Paradox, Voyagers, Basjoes, Funny People, The Basement, Ricks Bar, The Mellow Yellow, The Hemp Hotel, Dampkring I and Kardinsky.

First things first. Where is the coffee shop with the fishtank on the floor? Are there any with trippy things like a fishtank or something else that we should see? Where are the special coffeeshops?

We know that you've posted these things in the forums before, it's just a lot to remember and your help would be appreciated.

Don't get us wrong, the coffeeshops we have visited have been cool already, everyone has been awesome and different from the last. The cheapest coffee so far has been Kardinsky - 2 Euro Cappuccino.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if you saw my reply to your previous thread, but I'd highly recommend stopping by Cafe 420. This was by far our favorite shop during our first trip to the 'Dam last week.

My wife and I (both approaching 40) really enjoyed it...good music (classic rock) and a great atmosphere. I didn't see any fishtanks, but I did see a few TV screens showing ocean and sea life-related documentaries. Enjoy!

Rokerij IV over the west is wonderfully chilled inside. Candle light and bhudda images, really good looking.

Dolphins on kerkstraat has a cool underawater theme with good murals and decor. (also immensly comfy sofas downstairs)

The rokerij down by leidseplein also looks great inside, like all the rokerijs.

Kashmir is one that doesn't get many mentions but I'll add my support for its comfiness.

Usually end up there early on a Sunday (well, relatively 8) with the paper but had a couple of memorable Fri/Sat nights over the years

I forsee a visit on the 27th

Hell, you are in town for a while.

Break bad, do the 15 - 20 minute train ride to Haarlem.

Entire different scene. A lot quieter, no trams. Smaller than Amsterdam easily walkable.

Be sure to stop at Birdy ( my fav ).

Haarlem Coffeeshop Map

Maybe an early supper here before returning to Amsterdam. http://www.wilma-alberts.nl/frameset.html

Enjoy

Willie Wortals is a must... even though the drinks are only from vending machine.. the gear is always great and an ok price.. Great for an afternoon smoke break.. Always a stop after a day at Sauna Van Egmont!
