Howdy from HillBillyJim

Post by HillBillyJim »

Hi all,

I am new to the forums, but not the site, as I have posted reviews on a few shops over the years. Anyways, hello...

I am Jimmy. HillBilly Jim. My parent met at Woodstock, where I was conceived. English mum, American dad. Having a mum from Luton (where I was born and raised), with a kentucky hillbilly for a dad, is pretty unusual I guess. I have not met any others like me. My accent is pretty crappy. Hillbilly & Lutonian dont mix to form anything elegant.

I currently live in the Appalachias (a mountain range in the eastern half of the US), and travel to Amsterdam several times a year. I am moving there full time in about 3 more years, with the wife and kids. Its nice to have dual citizenship :)

I dig on bluegrass, hiking, banjo's, growing the occasional plant, and distilling the occasional batch of peach brandy, and hanging with the kids climbing trees and fishin'. Beyond that, I do very much enjoy a good smokeout session. I am not the stereotypical fan of the marijuana scene. Educated as a microbiologist, now an international technology executive. I would say however, that even as a 40 something business type, I have always been warmly welcomed by strangers of all ages and all walks of life in the coffee shop scene, and had some of the most interesting conversations. I am a proud member of the marijuana community.

Life is weird.

Well anyways, I wanted to say hello. I will be at the Cannabis Cup, and I am taking a couple of 40-somethings with me as well, perhaps we will meet in person somewhere!

Peace & Happiness to you all....

Your friend in buds,

HillBillyJim

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.
There is a lot going on around cup time.

Enjoy

I fly in with my old buddies Ryan & Rob on Saturday Morning, landing at about 7am.

Normally when I am in Amsterdam we stay at the Renaissance hotel, but this time we are going with a budget motel in the RLD, Hotel Torenzicht.

Basjoe is not far from us, nor the other spots on the Nieuwmarkt. I suspect I will be there a fair bit.

Would love to meet up with some kind souls for a wake-n-bake on Saturday morning, cup of coffee, and some toke-n-talk....

We fly out Wednesday the 23rd, at lunch time.

Two and a half weeks, nice long visit.

You have been posted on the November Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
There is a lot going on during your visit.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=73307

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
