By the way the French cuisine we tried in Paris was terrible and I think that only the French find their food to be the best in the world. Aussie food is much better.

Back on topic.....

Last December I was on a train from Amsterdam to Dortmund with my GF. I had fallen asleep, when I got woken up by someone tapping on my shoulder. I looked up and there was a man, normally dressed, flashing some sort of card and saying something to me, but I was half asleep. Woke up and asked him again in English(!) what was up, and he said he was a German police officer and asked me for ID. First thing I thought of was the 5g or so of weed in my suitcase  thinking pleaseeeeee dont ask to look through my luggage!

I managed to play it cool and just showed him my ID, he just asked if the suitcase was mine to which I replied yes, and he carried on through the carriage asking a couple of other people for ID, mainly people that looked a bit dodgy lol...phew!

Back off topic....

I have to admit Paris is not my favourite place in France and I've been there a number of times. One good thing about it is the girls...I don't think I've seen so many HOT chicks in my life in a week than the last time I was there. Bad points are the tramps living in the metro stations...I mean 'cmon...gives a bad impression of the whole city! Much prefer Nice, my kind of place, maybe its the sea :P

Sir, you've hurted my (french) feelings several times in this thread, I demand some apologies asap ; plus I demand that you sing La marseillaise (120 beats per minute) today as loud as possible while whiping your chest with nettles.

Then you'll post the video of you doing that. If it's not done in 48 hours I'll have to declare war to Australia and invade your stupid country to kick your ass.

I am very sorry Froggy. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, just relaying the experience we had. I did not say all French were arseholes. I met a couple or few that were awesome and I expect there are plenty more about. Just didn't find many in Paris centre, especially at the tourist places. An Example, we got a bit disorientated on the Effiel tower and couldn't seem to locate the lift down, or even the right stairs. Stupid tourists hey open your eyes. We did need help, and I could see staff lining up at what looked to be an elevator entrance. I asked "s'il vous plait, sera cet ascenseur nous faire descendre" which i think means Excuse me if you please is this the elevator down? The answer I received was No! This came from a young French man in a suit, which looked like an Eiffel tower guide. Since he obviously knew English, I didn't continue my terrible rendition of french and asked" Where would the lift be so we can get down or even the stairs?" he replied "I don't know" I asked everyone who was in the lift, nearly seven different staff members of the Eiffel tower, whether anyone knew where to go to get down. No one knew. Not one of the seven could help us. They even laughed as they closed the doors. You can't tell me that not one of the seven knew where a visitor could climb down or catch a lift???? Their are many other little experiences which built up and made our experience bad.

Since you admit in your profile that your location is Uranus, I guess that you must feel like home while travelling in France...
