Privet (hello), I am Ivan from Russia (but I'm Kazakh though). I have never smoked even a cigarette. Really! Visiting Amsterdam and not visiting its famous coffeeshops? I don't know... sounds strange for me. I'm here in this forum to understand where to go and what to try if you are an absolute newbie.

I would advice a prerolled joint with haze .

Be sure to get haze lol , or else u might not enjoy the flavour of the smoke

Hello, may I suggest that you take the map and find a coffee shop were you fell comfortable, have a cup of coffee and relax, the rest will come talk with the bud tender other patrons, breath.

Others will have their own choices, but I'd recommend trying some Nepalese Temple Ball (soft hash that can be rolled into a thin kalbasa shape and relatively easy to roll with. If you have the budget, try an iso-hash at some point (if you're not experienced in rolling up, see if a bud tender or maybe even Gapie (member here) could help, you don't to go dropping the expensive stuff on the floor!).

If you get the chance, use a vaporizer in a coffeeshop that has them, very different experience to a joint.

Well OK I have been to Amsterdam...
Besides seeing the city and suburbs, I:
Smoked joint and drank special tea at Basjoe, felt nothing.
Smoked joint and ate space cookie at Easy Times, felt nothing at all.
Smoked joint at Chich and Chong, nothing again!
Damn, I dunno what was going on. Maybe I just expected something extraordinary, not as it was. Feel like there were the most uselessly spent 30 euro in my life

P.S. Atmosphere is nice everywhere, though.

Where the smokes pre-rolled? If you buy them from the wrong place, you can end up with a poor smoke.
If you go again, try out a vaporizer, and if you did buy pre-made spliffs, either practice rolling with just tobacco at home first, or speak nicely to a bud tender at a quiet time of day, and s/he might roll one for you.
No insult intended if you rolled all your smokes by hand etc., just suddenly had a thought why the spliffs might not have had much of an effect.
