A quick trip

Hi All, I havent been round these here parts for sometime !!.Many reasons but the main one as for many people was a total lack of cash.Which meant that reading about the dam and everybodies adventures just "got me down" as i really could not see how i would get a chance to visit again certainly for many years. 
.However things have changed and i am back on a even keel and started lurking again around four months ago.First thing i did when funds allowed was to book that trip i had been promising myself 
.I was there last weekend from friday till monday So here goes with a short report.
A little background first to set the scene!. I am not a youngster anymore, 43 and counting or in my prime as i like to think
.I have been to the dam many times in fact i have no idea how many times as they all blend into one after a while.Lets say around thirty trips but it could well be twentyish 
The plan was this.I was flying out on my own friday and the rest of the group around 8 people were coming on the ferry as "MrT" was travelling with them and could not face flying.Personally the ferry is torture for me so flying it was.... and it gave me some time to sample a few schmokeables before they turned up as some were just big drinkers.
So i land at dinnertime jump on the train and i am really up for this.Feel a bit nervous for some reason think its the anticipation as i have been looking forward to this for four years since my last visit.Decide to walk from the station to my hotel which is a long trek but i wanted to take in the atmosphere of the place the unique sites and sounds and smells.You know the score Booked through priceline and got the Marriott up on leidseplein.Very nice hotel and paid less than half the rack rate so cool. Ditched my bag hit the streets.i used to come three times a year regularly so it felt strange but familiar if you see what i mean.I decided to mooch all the way back to Amnesia as it has always been a favoutite and then work my way back.So we shall take it from there 
.Busy as usual in here but get a seat by the bar.First two purchases are Amnesia and Caramello on the recommendation of the very friendly and helpful lady bud tender .You always get great service in here.To be honest the Amnesia looked ropey and i never would of bought if if she had not said it was good.I think it was better than it looked wit a nice taste and it hit hard very up smoke.pack my gear up and decide to carry on for another walk.This is when it gets interesting.The buzz and effect left after ten minutes 
Another spliff needed so round the corner and dive into homegrown fantasy. Unfriendly guy on the door pulling anybody who looks young and asking for passport.make a purchase of Twizla i think and skin up with the caramello.Again nice initial hit very intense but it only takes me to where i want to be for ten minutes.
I had been warned by many people that the weed had "gone off" over the last few years and that i would really notice the difference.Unfortunatley that appears to be true.To be honest the best smoke i had was some Nepal temple ball from of all places "city hall".Which was very nice.I have a theory that the weed is probably the same as ever
but when i first started going aroung 16 years ago al we could get here was rocky and brick weed.So the weed would blow you away.Now i am a guerilla grower myself and know many other growers so "good weed" is available most of the time luckily for me.I think i have a tolerance problem with most strains now.I wont bore you with my descriptions of weed etc as none of it was "stand out".All the hazes tasted the same and the rest had little smell and effect
As i was walking round i would see people clearly Battered and wondered why i could not get like that .The above is the reason why i think but who knows. On a brighter note .Had a great time and still love the place .I would go back without the smoke as it now appears to be a secondary bonus .Hell i am already thinking about my next trip.
You know i am a sativa and hash man at heart and the hash was better than the weed for sure.i even went for full on indicas but the result was pretty much the same.Not slagging it but wanted to be honest .I am sure if you have not been before or cant get decent stuff over here you will be more than satisifed.Burger bar was a great call Wagyu beef ...yes please.Weather class.hotel very nice but 26 euro for a breakfast is a joke .So mixed report. The good thing is i can plan another "do" as surely the weed cant be that bad .I will have to come back on another mission
