The Buddha Tahoe OG is incredibly similar to Sour Diesel I've had in England, except you can tell it's been given the Buddha treatment - I get a hint of Cheese in there, but maybe it's his influence. Either way, it's astounding. The web-site says beans early next year, which of course, is a terrible shame To confirm - I love Sour D, and I did mean to buy Tahoe - it smells almost identical.
Also the ECSD is very similar to the Tahoe. It's my personal opinion that these are probably just variations on the same theme - like different phenos out of a pack of seeds.
OG Kush just isn't a Kush though. Not in the Kush Valley sense of the term at least. Not in the sense of Master Kush / Vanilla Kush etc. That said, Green Place's OG Kush was very reminiscent of a Kush, but that was the only example I saw that was.

I went there once last summer, in June, and once this past weekend. All the Kushes I sampled were pretty top-notch, and though I have little experience with Kushes I've been a daily toker for years, and I've lived in the Netherlands with access to coffeeshop bud for a year and a half now. I can definitely recommend the following, as long as they represent what you may be looking for in a Kush (do you want a geographical, Afghan/Hindu Kush mountain range kush, or an OG Kush-kush?).
OG #18 - OG Kush (Grey Area): Real fuckin' knockout bud. Halfway through a spliff of this my ex and I (both seasoned smokers with high tolerance from regular daily toking) were looking at the joint in comical fashion, going "god damn! Is this weed?" Sent a vibrating buzz throughout the head and body, soon followed by heavy couchlock, and made me sleepy towards the end. Sledgehammer stuff, one of the strongest buds I've ever smoked.
Raskal OG Kush (Bluebird): Tight little nugs of goodness with a really zesty funky lemon taste. Nice head high and a relaxing, overpowering body buzz! This stuff is potent, tasty, and just about everything you'd look for in bud.
Kandy Kush - OG Kush x TrainWreck (Grey Area): A nice halfway feel between indica/sativa, tastes like absolute sweet candy, and gives a non-rushing, pleasant sativa head high with a nice body buzz which isn't sedating.
Headband - OG Kush x Sour Diesel (Grey Area): Kind of like the previous one, except it's a little heavier on the indica side. A little sedating, very relaxing, and with a sick fuel funk taste you won't forget. Won't necessarily put you to sleep, but it'll help you sleep, and it's definitely bud more suited towards the later hours of the day. Kind of gives you a confused, "mindfuck" kind of high, where thoughts may be hard to string together, and productivity may be limited.
Vanilla Kush (Barney's): Unlike the previous entries, this is a hybrid of two Kushes from the geographical mountain range, and you can definitely feel the difference - this is an earthy, heavy indica. Unlike most strains I've tried, this actually tasted like its namesake - there was a dank, musky earthy taste on the inhale, but a definite flavour of vanilla was detectable on the exhale! Very tasty, very stoney bud. Sedating, good for insomnia, definitely not to be smoked during the day unless you're certain you won't need to move for the next 2 hours or so.

No it's not rebranded sour d.
And rumour has it that OG Kush came from the old Chemdog Cut, which means it's about as closely related to Sour D as you and your closest relative are related to each other. If you believe heresay that is; I prefer to find these things out for myself.
California has NO native strains by the way, it was all introduced artificially.

Yeah, it's all chemdawg derivative...
Og Kush is supposedly chemdawg x (lemon Thai x old world paki)
Sour d is supposedly chemdawg x massachusetts super skunk
On my last visit, out of the tubs most of the kushes smelt very similar but all very different tasting when smoked. Unlike the hazes which can be more difficult to tell apart. All IMO of course
Barney's Vanilla is quite decent - nice stone from it, and as mentioned above, the vanilla exhale is pretty cool. Taste seems to linger on the palette too which is nice - I like chewing it for a while after I've smoked
