Look into getting UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for emergency backup? Maybe an expensive solution, but a solution none the less. Keeps you growing right?

I my opinion, one day should not hurt the plants. I have shut down grows for a day (on a couple of occasions two days) during vegetation and flowering, and didn't observe any negative effects. I have only grown normal and feminized, but I don't think auto's would be any different.
Observe and maintain control over temperature and humidity, and you shouldn't experience anything negative.
Good luck.

Happy farming...

Thanks guys...@ Boner,it would be quite gloomy probably, unless by some miracle its a sunny day  and Uncle Ron,temperature and humidiyt would be acceptable...its juxt,i read that autofems are prone to hermy if" shocked" in any way...idk :?

As for Redeyezman...is this an American thing, cos i've never heard of it in the UK...unless youre talking bout a generator :?:  :)

Definately an expensive solution there Redeyez..
Thats gonna be one hell of a sized battery in that ups to keep a room running for a few hours ....

I have a small one for my PC and it only gives me around 10 minutes.. Enough to shut down the pc if a power cut happens or a breaker trips out.

Drups may be the way forward there, but man... that stufs expensive. :D :D

I don't think one of these will help much Darkglobe.

If its safe to use a generator you could always hire one for the day.

Both great suggestions from Boner and Uncle Ron... Hypothectically I have no idea which would be best... However I do know that ups's within a budget are not the way to go... Like RedEyez said... You gotta spend a lot of money if you were looking at the UPS route. :D

Aye but as long as it's getting some light (put it in the bathroom with the light on even) it would imo be better than just leaving it in the dark, any interuption to the light cycle can result (not guaranteed) in herms.

I might not have best tips, as I've never done a grow room.

With that said maybe someone can tell share how many watts a grow room uses? Here is the chart for UPS:
http://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for ... family=165

Yeah this is probably a bad idea for keeping lights going, but maybe keep a pump going for water/hydro setup? Maybe use as power conditioner to keep spikes/dips off any electronics you do use? AKA Insurance plan. There are so many proprietary setups who knows who could and couldn't use it? I'm sure someone somewhere is getting smokable plants with LCD lights.

Wasn't dissing you Redeyez, just had this comical picture in my head when I read the thread. Vision of a stack of these http://www.ebuyer.com/240318-extra-valu ... -ups-ea205 piled up in a corner of the grow room waiting for the power cut.

Some interesting suggestions there   8) ,i would think that hiring a diesel jenny would be the best easily attainable option, but unless you're out in the wilds,it may attract unwanted attention ie What the fuck does he want a generator for ? ...So it looks like its (Thanks Boner)by the windows on a rainy gloomy day,by the looks of things...oh well...KISS

I had 6 autoflowers go without light due to an outage that lasted almost 3 days...they turned out ok...also had some regular feminized seedlings go without for 4 days and they survived too...
