I bet you did see her! There are you tube vids that someone took while following her into different coffeeshops with her body guardsFenixNYC wrote:I walked right past Lady Gaga and her entourage at 3:30 in the morning down the road from Baba during my May 2010 trip.
She was dressed in Gaga mode too with weird heels and a PVC outfit but I was so stoned and jetlagged (was up for 30 + hours straight) I just chalked it up to the random weird people you see in the RLD.
Came home, Googled her tour schedule and lo and behold she was playing the neighoring town the day after I saw her.
And my dumb ass didn't take a pic or say hello,.

brilliant

This was not in RLD but somewhere else I was just walking and exploring the late night streets in my first june trip and as I was walking the empty streets in the living area one random guy at the bicycle passed around me and after a while he shouted "GET SHOT GET SHOT GET SHOT...NOT YOU MAN" just a random thing I guess..

2 things that come to mind was the first time I came out the downstairs door of the Bulldog (probably my second trip) and was faced by an Amazonian Blond with her nipples peeking over her bra, I just stood still and gawped, the other and most memorable thing was last years walk through with several forum members, funniest thing ever.

Been reminded of another strange thing happening there. A few of us were walking down past the Old Church coffeeshop on a bar crawl, (well more a smoking crawl for me for which I near did have to crawl by then) heading towards Hill Street Blues back when they sold alcohol as it suited them for drinking and me for smoking. We were just passing the church on the right heading towards Carrabian Corner and I look to my right and outside the church was 3 women dressed in dark boiler suit like clothes just stood there with cards round the necks with numbers on as I recall.
Thought sod all of it myself putting it down to something the weed was making me see and that it was'nt there at all. Then the next thing I know 1 of the guys, chris grabbed hold of my arm saying "what the fucks that" and starts laughing. Seems it was'nt the weed at all and there really was 3 women there in boiler suit like clothers with numbers on them just stood there.
Not to sure what it was about except I think it was suggested it was some sort of protest.

1 of our group tried but they remained silent, just stood there still and silent. There was someone with them keeping an eye on them but when we tried to ask the 3 standing there what it was all about the 4th woman there with them (keeping an eye on them I guess) kindly and politely asked us to leave them alone.cattales1960 wrote:shoot you should of asked them whats up with the numbers. lolDave J wrote:Been reminded of another strange thing happening there. Chances are the above was an example of the hilarious hazing process the posh young students go through in order to get into their chosen sorority or fraternity.
I'm guessing your trip was late summer?

Re: What is your most random Red Light/Coffee Shop experienc
Having lived here for many years I have seen many bizarre and unusual things around the RLD and in the various coffeeshops.
On more than one occasion in the RLD I have witnessed an angry customer thrown into the street with his trousers round his knees because his time was up even though he perhaps was a little too drunk to finish the job! Always a very dignified look I thought.
One of my favorites was from my very first shift working at homegrown fantasy.
A German tourist, youngish guy, had come in and bought some weed and was sat at the bar chatting.
His vibe was a little strange and I guessed maybe he'd been at the mushrooms but he wasn't outside my weird threshold so I was chatting away with him.
After a while he asks if he can use the toilet and I tell him of course and point him to the back before getting on with serving the next bunch of customers.
A good bit later my colleague asks me if I'd seen the guy leave yet and I said that I hadn't.
It had been at least half an hour so I went to knock at the door to see if everything was alright. All I got was a muffled reply, and so, slightly concerned, we decided to try to open the door from outside.
She went to fetch a screwdriver, while I stayed behind the bar.
A couple of minutes later a shout from the back came" er... Nel... I think I might need your help with this one.."
I went back to find her holding open the door of the toilet to reveal a completely naked tourist squatting in the corner of the toilet, grinning insanely up at us while masturbating furiously!
How's that for the first day in a job?
After some debate between me and my colleague, with the door closed again for decency, we rejected the idea of chasing him out with the fire-extinguisher in favour of me cajoling the nutjob to at least put his trousers on, whereupon I escorted him out of the shop and suggested he take his special brand of weirdness over the road to meet the Scientologists.
That set the bar pretty high for strange coffeeshop experiences for me right from the very start, yet there have still been a few more that sit in the same league.
I'm sure I'll share again soon.

Probably september or october. And they were younger, certainly no older than early 20's at the most.nel z bub wrote:Chances are the above was an example of the hilarious hazing process the posh young students go through in order to get into their chosen sorority or fraternity.

@dave j- that was certainly sorority bullshit then..
A tradition the dutch could have done without adopting from the states.
In my own experience most of the frat boys and girls in this town tend to be a pack of tossers and the hazing weeks can really bring out the worst in them.
