evening all..am off to spend xmas with a friend and i have a 3 hour 40 min lay over in schiphol..am thinking capital but am open to suggestions..any idea's close to the station so i dont miss my flight..cheers chaps )

Act quickly, you will eat up your 40 minutes just getting from and back to the airport.
I would spend no more than an hour in town. Voyagers is right across the street from Centraal Station and has a good menu.

Get the most direct train to Centraal Station ASAP, and run to the nearest coffeeshop, and buy the highest grade strain of the herb they can sell you, and smoke as much as you humanly can, then buy as many space cakes you can eat, and then proceed to eat the space cakes on your way back to Schipol.
