passport control when leaving amsterdam

Post by Andrey »

before the customs check, which I recon happens right before boarding...
does it have a sign like "no drugs beyond this point"? Or is this my false-memory?
I don't remember when I used eating my space-cake: before checking on boarding or before passport control.

There is no customs when leaving Amsterdam. You go through passport control after checking in/dropping off luggage. If you're going to a Schengen country, security is at the entrance to the departure pier. If you going outside Schengen, security is at the gate. I have never seen a sign, but I usually munch just before going to the gate.

Peace

OK, so then my memory is back in place when I remember eating it right before the gate.
But taking it aboard while customs check all your luggage and almost underwear is really nerve taking.

No one seems to care what's in my luggage until I hit US customs. Even then...

As far as AMS customs goes, it's only pastry to them. They don't give a shit if it's loaded or not.

I normally carry 1 - 1.5 grams hash through passport control, then make my way to the cafe nearest to my departure gate (traveling to US).

The hash gets dropped into a large hot chocolate one hour before departure, which is when I queue at the gate.

I have been burned on space cakes so many times I don't even try it nowadays. But the hash, that one is reliable.

Yeah, because the escape hatch is real helpful while screaming towards the ground at 500+ miles an hour. ( and no, the NYC Hudson river "sully" adventure is not a valid comparison. you aint landing any jet on the ocean..) it's called " hope it's a painless ending "

Nah, its when the plane catches fire on the ground that I would prefer the person next to me not be stoned out of their minds. On the other hand, it will be easier to walk over you on the way out.
