Has anyone done this? Wondering if its cool and you can rent the scooter and go at your own pace or what the actual deal is? Ive looked at the website but if anyone has any other info about it that would be great. I think it would be good if i can basically do what i want on my own time table (as long as i reserve it for), stop for smoke breaks and such.

Sure you can rent them, USBonglord rents a nice electric one.

Word of warning, I rode a motorcycle only (no car) in the US for quite a while and I would not ride a scooter here. Too dangerous, especially with all the 'temptations' in Amsterdam. Bike is much safer and a great way to see the city.

Considering the number of scooter rental places, you know you aren't the first to ever do this.

Your first consideration should be weather. Here in the US I ride a Honda Metropolitan during
the warm months. Great fun unless you get uncomfortably cold.

Second factor, do you want gas or electric powered. USBONGLORD goes electric, but doesn't
leave the city. I go gas because I often do Haarlem and Zaandvort and I know I can refuel at
gas stations wherever I am.

The 50cc scooters can run all the bike lanes. This keeps you out of the way of most traffic and trams.

So, it is a great idea if you have the weather. Choice of power depends on what and where you will be
going.

a scooter is a bike with a motor..if ya already ride you will have no problem..i ride a 1800 vtx here, so a scooter is a toy ...riding a bike will help you learn the system tho...if i wasnt entirly confident of my riding skills i would never get one as i have luvtick on the back and i would never let anything happen to her...and there are plenty of ways to go places that you can take back streets and there isnt alot of motor traffic...have fun...you can go from voyagers to katsu in less then 10 minutes if ya ride like thunder...lol and anywhere in the whole city in less then 20 minutes

sidenote..the batteries in the scooter we rent will take you almost 100 km so you wont have to worry and there are charging pillars all over town now to plug in electric vehicles for free

thanks for the feedback but i was referring to the place, scooter experience. i wouldnt dare try to rent one to go around the main city. i plan on walking to places. but i came across this place where they give you a map and you can head out. thought it sounded like a good thing to do for half a day but thought id see if there were any reviews from anyone on here first. still up in the air about it tho...

That's exactly what it is. 1800ccs...two cylinders...700+ lbs...lol...my 29 year old 1100cc V4 will run circles around it.

I wouldn't be so sure...That's what the guys on the brand-new sportbikes say...then they don't even look at me when they catch up to me at the next light...Mine isn't stock either...

That's true...I get about 100 miles to the tankfull...maybe a bit more if I've been taking it easy...

What are you driving? It must be one hell of a machine. Then again, if you're racing Harleys, it's not that hard.
