I am planning a day trip to Holten to attend a memorial for Canadians who fell in action in the towns, villages, fields and canals of the area. Same as last year. The service begins at 2:30pm on Sunday the 15th of April. I’m not sure whether this sort of solemn event is of interest to many but, I’m going and those that do have an interest, and can show the proper decorum, are welcome to join me.

Here is my itinerary as I have worked it out so far:-
8:50am, departure from Centraal Station.
10:00am, arrive in Arnham. Two hours exploring the bridge and coffeeshops.
12:10pm, depart Arnham.
12:35pm, arrive in Zutphen. One hour to visit the three coffeeshops.
1:35pm, depart Zutphen.
2:10pm, arrive in Holten
Taxi up the hill to the cemetery and back down, if necessary.

That’s as far as I’ve gone.
The options for the return trip are:-
Hopping off in Deventer, Apeldoorn and/or Amersfoort.
Total return train fare is approximately 50 euro. Not sure on the taxi fare at this point.

Keeping in mind that the 15th is the ‘official’ opening party of 4/20 at Nes, it is still possible to make one or maybe two fly&buys (two stops of one hour each) and be back at Centraal station by 8:30pm.
If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one.

Depending on date, I'ld like to see some exotic cars.

I know gapie and his spontaneous T&Ts in Haarlem.

Enjoy

If you go to Den haag, I really highly suggest the MC Escher museum. It will only take a couple of hours and some of his work when your stoned is a trip. It is awesome. We did it last year.

I've been to Den Haag but I didn't know there was a collection of cars there. I love classics and that sounds like some fun.

Actualy, it is a simple trip to Holten with Arnham as the bonus... :D :D
I made an attempt at visiting Arnham a couple of years ago....got totaly lost coming out of the train station (no map) and wondered lost in the rain for a few hours...great fun.
Hope you make it this year too.
