Bought five grams of something at Abraxas.
Chatted w/ the budtender for a few minutes.
Then he gave me a plastic Abraxas grinder, my first one (no, really).
I had to leave right away though.

Fully agree with Voyagers, Paradox, Grey Area and Amensia. My personal favourite budtender works at Funky Munkey and all the staff I've been served by there are real cool.

+1 on the shops listed, however...
...even the most chill people have off days, to which I mean they may not be having the best of days and may come off other than hospitable.
I suppose I could consider myself lucky that I haven't experienced what others have. Twichaldinho said it best, and if I may add - attitude.
There are some that probably shouldn't be in a customer oriented business to begin with, so...

In the 7+ years that I've frequented C/S, the worst I've been treated was with indifference. Meh, semi-normal human behavior anyway.
There was that one time in Mellow Yellow when one of the staff thought I was a junkie and escorted me out, but that was sorted, along with an apology.

Ever wonder how some businesses can stay open when they have horrid customer service and/or product? Think about it...

Happy trails...

Agree with most of the positives above, personally i'd add the female b/t at Stix (Utrechtsestraat) and the long haired fella in Bluebird. It's such a subjective topic though, not many staffers are on top form 100% of the time. Well, apart from the two guys in Paradox maybe...

I am very big on service (and quality) - I should point out that price is my least important factor.

Coffeeshops which, for me, offer a good level of service and quality are:

Barneys Lounge - very comfortable shop, always friendly staff, good weed but a little on the expensive side. (Still my favourite place to smoke.)
Voyagers - Excellent staff, smoke and price.
Abraxas - touristy, expensive but always find the staff to be good.
Club Media - only discovered this shop on my 10th visit to the Dam. Excellent service, good weed, very comfortable and clean place to smoke.
Grey Area - sometimes good service, sometimes bad - can be very busy in here so no surprises over inconsistent service.

ENJOY! :D

Agree with both of the above too. (Does Stix on Utrechtestraat still have the heated glass working? - remember getting rather excited at a heated window!)

Thanks everyone!! A lot of these confirmed the notes that said "good service" next to the shops on my list... And a few new ones to research. :)

I work in service which I guess is why it's such a big deal for me... I get so frustrated with my coworkers who just do not give ONE SHIT about our customers. (it's normally the younger ones)
I definitely have my off days too though, and of course not every customer can be pleased!

Of the "bad" (not horrible, mind you) service I received in Amsterdam, a couple I recognized were in you guys' bad lists, such as Grasshopper... But as for the couple others I felt uncomfortable in? Those were probably due to my own inexperience and maybe a bud tender's off moment or day... I was very nice and polite but I was probably very obviously new at this! Speaking of my inexperience is there a thread all about buying etiquette? I'm sure there is, I'll go look for it now...
