weekends in august to busy?

Chatting to a m8 last night about going to dam in august some time he said he would go but would only do a weekend. I've never really liked doing the weekends due to all the drunken\drunken stag weekenders etc. Now I'm assuming august would be even worse for a bigger crowds of people?. Dont get me wrong I dont like going to near empty places etc, but cant stand it when everythings to busy and packed and too many people around in general.

Is weekends in august any bussier than weekends any other time of the year or are weekends a bit of a pain for those wanting to relax walking round doing the coffeeshops and a few bars any time of the year?. I'm sure I asked a similar quesdtion in the past but wandering what things were like at weekends last summer?. Prefer a mid weeker myself just trying to get some recent feedback for a m8 who seems to think weekends are the only time worth going as thats all he has done in the past.

Swings and roundabouts,have been in August over weekend and hav'nt seen that much over crowding.

I've been twice in August and also apart from this time around its always been midweek. It can be a little busier in august but that bad really. Would probably notice it more if there were more than the 2 of you.

Upside is chance of better days to sit outside the coffeeshops or take yourself to Vondelpark!

august is a great time of year to visit, perfect temperature, not too packed at all.
