Day 2. Part 2

Not very sure what we wanted to eat, we pottered about for a while, eventually picking up some frites from manneken pis and a big mac....the choices you make when hungry eh? The frites were good as I've come to expect from MP but the big mac was awful, not just as bad as they usually are, the top bun was the same shade of dark brown as my lovely turkish hash, and about as hard too! I had to chuck the top bun and eat a very odd looking topless Mac.

Appetite sorted we headed back to the house, as the others tried to remember all the rules to kings, I busied myself rolling up three joints (I'd need both hands for the drinking game) one silver bubble, one kandy kush and one blueberry haze. The next couple of hours when by in a flash, I did take note of the sequence though which went, round of kings, silver bubble, round of kings, kandy kush, Blueberry, sit and enjoy the sensation of my head rolling around my shoulders for a stoners eternity and then

Day 3.

I'm awake and in my bed, that's a result, an added bonus is my lack of beer related aches and pains. I must have been in a bit of a fog though as I have no notes on what I got up to this morning. I seem to recall a trip to an Irish bar for breakfast but I'm thinking I must have enjoyed a wake and bake that I don't remember....

My notes kick back in a little later and we're wandering through the Albert Cup Market, it was a pleasant stroll but I was all too aware of the fact that I had been without a smoke for far too long. I was momentarily occupied by some tasty proffiteries (I don't think that's how you spell them but it looks close for sure) Tasty treats depleted and market browsing complete by all, we headed for de Rokerij

I grabbed a water and a tiny chair and rolled up a kandy kush j, mmmm that's nice, I'm back to my Amsterdam mind set. I check the time and see its 15.30, there is a toke n' talk scheduled for 16.00 that I wanted to pop along to but my weed stash is looking fairly miserable at this point. Amy and Pete decide to head back to the house for a while and myself and my gf high tail it to Grey Area and pick up some of that Quase (15e/g) that hasn't left my mind for five minutes ever since I left it behind the other day. Then its a short walk over to Nes.

I get in the door and order two drinks for us before taking a table by the door. This is my first time at a T&T so I haven't met anyone from the forum before but the place is quiet and its pretty clear that the three guys chatting at the bar are most likely who I'm looking for. I timidly approach (it might not be them...) and sure enough I'm soon introduced to Gapie, Bleak and DC. Soon we were all smoking and chatting, I rolled up a pure quase joint for the table, bleak shared some indian hash (I think that's what you said...) and his very cool portable vap with mystery (I forgot to ask) weed. DC then rolled and passed a joint of NL crossed with something, I can't remember what he said for the life of me and its not in my notes. I do remember him saying 'it tastes like cheese' and it sure did, knocked the socks off me too so it did! If anyone has any ideas what it could be please let me know.

At this point the whole table was looking pretty out of it and I was seriously hungry so we said our goodbyes and headed off in search of something that would turn our food luck around. I hadn't been before but after reading so much about it on here, I couldn't resist checking out Burger Bar. Talk about turning our food luck around? 270g black Angus with bacon and mushrooms, I didn't know burgers could get this good!

Before heading back to the house, we swung by 420 and picked up some 420 Kush @ 12e/g. Once back I tucked into that cake from paradox and smoked some more quase while watching the other three play a few rounds of kings. I can't explain how entertaining this was to watch and the notes I took make absolutely no sense to me, all I know is I had a great time! After making a high (me) slash drunk (Pete) plan for a wake and bake session the next morning, I headed for bed.

Not to be pedantic but Wagyu and Kobe are two different kinds of beef. But they are both freakin delicious!

Cheers, I find it hard not to get philosophical when making decisions in Amsterdam, so many choices...

Day 4

Our wake and bake 'plan' hadn't stretched to a time so when I hopped downstairs to the living room at around 10 there was no Pete. Not to worry, my quase was there so I smoked a j while I waited and what do you know but Pete arrived just after I finished it. Only one thing for it, I rolled up a j of 420 kush and we smoked that instead. First impressions from the 420 kush were only ok but I did have a nice stoned feeling coming in over my quase high. It was a little on the harsh side though.

The girls whipped up some ham and cheese toasties for us all (myself and Pete took care of the washing up, which when baked flies by!) and then decided to head off to a shop they had spotted earlier in the trip for a browse. Pete and myself (now reacquainted with the couch) popped Harold and Kumar in the DVD player and my next two hours went by pretty quickly, lucky for me I scrawled down what I smoked. Which reads as so, two bowls of Turkish, joint of quase, two more bowls, joint of Blueberry.

At some point the girls arrived back and a second DVD was put on, Pete and Amy decide to eat their dolphins muffins while watching this and I decide to go for a nap! When I arrive back down, Amy has gone to bed and Pete is about to follow, the muffins haven't delivered the same effects that they experienced last time they tried edibles (hours later I realize that all they had to eat that day was two toasties and that's obviously caused a bigger effect then they were expecting/used too, I should have picked up on this when they started to eat them but I was only barely aware of my surroundings at that time!) No harm done though and myself and my gf decide to go out for dinner together for the night.

We went for steak at Argentinos on Damstraat as I thought I had heard good things about it, now I'm not sure if I did and just can't remember where or if I imagined them. What I do know is our food wasn't very good at all, to make up for it we popped over to the cake place across from 420 and picked up some tasty chocolate brownies for back at the house. No idea if Amy and Pete were up when we got back but I don't think they were, I reckon they slept right through to the next day but I'm not 100% I do know I made up a joint using the leftovers from all the strains I had bought, what did I think of it? my notes simply say "special mix J??? YES" I have no recollection of it that night but I had enough for a second joint the next day...

Day 5 (Last day)

A ham and cheese toastie and a bowl of Turkish, every day should start of like this! We pack up the house and drop the keys back, we have a few hours before our flight so they hold onto our bags for us which was nice. Most of the last day is spent wandering around the city, popping into any shops that catch our eye. WE wander into Abraxas for a drink and I roll up the last of the 420 Kush, as soon as I spark it the tables erupts in smoke, It's like a truck just backfired in my face! 'dense, dense smoke' is what I wrote in my notepad and I'm sent to the end of the bench to smoke it so the others don't have to put up with it. I didn't need the black ash to tell me this wasn't flushed right! only just smokable really.

After this we made a last stop at Nes for my final smoke of the trip. Rolled up the last of the mixed weed but it wasn't a great combination really, I should have just gone and bought half a gram somewhere but there was no time to now, a quick hi and bye to Gapie and DC and we headed off for our bags and to catch the train.

A few final thoughts

Fav smoke of the trip - Kandy Kush, Grey Area
Biggest let down - 420 Kush, 420

It was great having the house for this trip as I was there with non smokers but I don't think I'd rent one again, too tempting to sit on the couch when you could be in a coffeeshop (I have a couch at home) More so then that I won't be going with non smokers again, we all had a great time together but there are citys all over the world that we could have gone to for those laughs, Amsterdam for me needs to have smoking as the number one priority for the entire group!

Thank you to anyone that reads through my ramblings, I hope you enjoyed! Already planning my next trip (March I should think) and it will be far more smoke orientated. Hopefully my writing will improve for the next trip report, I know now to take better notes though as this one was difficult to piece together.

Happy Thoughts...

I really enjoyed your 'ramblings,' Ben. Let us know when you've assembled your smoking crew for the next trip- I, for one, am ready for more of your reporting.

Cheers!
I may be stoned, but don't take me for granite...
