Last Months Trip...

Post by BarryWhite »

The drive down the motorway was blind, the rain and fog made it impossible to see no more than a few metres in front. The destination is worth it.

My mate gets frisked and they confiscate his shoes. Walking around customs in his socks for 10 minutes looking for where they've taken them, an officer pipes up from behind a desk “there!!” and points aimlessly in the distance to a group of other officers.

All clothing items returned, lining the stomach sounds like a good idea and what better way than a chicken royal with cheese. Once again Burger King lives up to expectations.

14:20pm time to board the plane. Sat above the left engine which sounded like a spanner was caught in it... great. In need of a smoke.

Flying hiiiiigh! Pondering what to have first on arrival... A Haze? G13 Haze maybe? Or something berry? From the view out the window it appears that Dam is in heaven... Twos on a can of orangina, overpriced plane food.

About to touch down, the flight took all of 5 minutes! Happy days!

Touch down in Dam at 16:15pm. The first steps on Amsterdam soil was while the clock struck 4.20.

Practically running through Shipol Airport now to get tickets for the train to Centraal. Inevitably get a little lost and ask a women in the poshest train office I’ve seen, it'd looks how I imagen the Ritz Hotel lobby would look.

Board the train, a double decker one which is new to me, so I had to sit up top.

3.2.1... Delta Force now 10 minutes away from Centraal, over and out!!

Arrived! Christmas lights up everywhere, a fantastic view to be greeted with! Lights covering the surrounding buildings are mirrored by the canals which cause more light than the street lamps.

After finding the others, we head to Voyagers. First purchase was the Super Lemon Haze. Decided not to chill in there and head to the apartment to drop our stuff off. The apartment is above Funny People which is useful. After dropping the stuff off and having a quick smoke we headed out to find Basjoes for the Toke & Talk. Reading a map isn't our best quality. Popped into another shop, can't remember the name, picked up some Space Shuttle Truffles (predominantly aimed for laughter) for later...

Finally arriving at Basjoes a little late but never the less we're all here! The Royal Haze gets purchased. Really love this coffeeshop, nice relaxed vibe, good music, a really nice place to chill and have my first proper smoke in a coffeeshop. Rolled up some lovely joints, snakes in the grass and the rented Roor Bong.

After saying our goodbyes we headed to find food and and more smoke for later on. Got the Irish burger from Burger Bar opposite Hunter's, I'd advise going there it was awesome. Popped into Hunter's and grabbed some Pineapple Express, didn't hang around though because it was too busy. Last stop before heading back was Green Place, where I got some of the Chocolope.

At the apartment, experimenting all the different strains which we all got whilst watching some of the most random television I've seen. The selection out of about 40 channels where; Disney, violence and porn. After going through each channel a few hundred times, we decided on a dvd...
All dvds where scratched beyond belief apart from one called War Inc. Down go the truffles! Everyone reacts differently, for me they took ages to take effect, to the point when I began to question when/if they they were going to work. Then, out of the blue, it felt like the top of my head just blew open and I felt myself suffocating from laughter, I couldn't physically get enough oxygen! It was a great feeling finding things that hysterical! We ended up watching War Inc a second time straight after it finished, this time round we spent the film reminiscing about what we were tripping out about the first time we watched it. After rolling one last astronomical joint we got a few much needed hours sleep.

9.00am(ish) Wake up. Just attempting to get my head together and we're informed we have to leave. Splash some water on my face, brush teeth, change clothes and leave for an essential wake and bake.

Wake and Bake of Pink Kush from Amnesia. If that didn't suffice the Hunter's Chem Dawg in the Volcano Vaporiser certainly did.

Next stop Blackstar. Got the Blue Berry. We decided we should try and get through some of the many strains we accumulated. So in an attempt we skinned up a joint of; Vanilla Kush, Pineapple Express, Silver Bubble, Caramella Cream, Liberty Haze, Hunter's Hash and Terminator.

Off to the infamous Grey Area to check out what's on the menu these days. The two that caught my eye was the Golden Haze and the Hawaiian Haze, I went with the Hawaiian Haze after seeing it. The buds looked like they were covered in tiny diamonds, slightly orange in colour, little sticky and smelt fantastic! Didn't hang about, the queue was almost out the door and you couldn't move without bumping into someone.

Back on ourselves to Paradox to get some space cakes, 6 euro a slice so we got 2 between 3 of us. Had a third each straight away, smoked some lovely joints of Blue Berry and Hawaiian Haze as well as various other strains being passed around and had a cheese toastie until the rest of our mates met us there.

Change of scenery is needed before we have to head home. Tried Barney's first but it was too hectic so we didn't get anything. Next was Green House, again way too busy, got to see the menu briefly but decided against stopping. Lastly, Popeye's. Got some of the White Shark and sat down to smoke the rest of our bud before going to the train station.

On the train back to Shipol now...

Arrived at Shipol Airport and now waiting to check in. Another chicken royal with cheese for dinner and the last space cake for the journey home.

Boarded the plane minus 2 people we came with due to an error with their ticket. Not really sure what to do.. 30,000 feet up going 450 miles an hour there's not much we can do. Hmmm, I wonder if they'll return to the UK..?

Zzzzzzz.

Back in England. Great.

23:45pm. On way home... car decides to drink petrol quicker than I've ever known it to. Hard shoulder job... Luckily I was 2 junctions short of coming off the motorway so the misses came and rescued me thankfully. Quick trip to the petrol station with the cherry can in hand and I'm home to bed!

My Strain Ratings;-

Blue Berry (Blackstar) – 3.8 / 5

Brilliant log, off for my first trip to dam in April and can't wait to try he super lemon haze everyone seems to have fallen in love with. What is the overall atmosphere like in voyagers? Thinking of making it my first coffee shop visit.

Thanks mate, the Super Lemon Haze was gorgeous I’d definitely get it again. Really relaxed, the budtenders are really welcoming and nice about when it came to showing us their strains. We didn't stop but would have if given more time, they had all kinds of bongs out for customers to try and even giving out free calenders at the time.

Well... my Mrs booked a flight for the day before, so... we had to leg it back to the begging of the airport, whilst our mates were boarding! Found someone to shout at but they helpfully replied it was the last flight, and that we would both have to buy new tickets now for the next flight to Bristol.... 7 a.m.

220eu lighter..

Thankfully, the space cake kept us chilled and having decided we didn’t want to get lost in the red-light district alone we made up camp at the back of the airport souvenir shop. Classy!

slept under a towel under constant lights....... and nothing......nothing left for a wake and bake.

nearly cried when we landed back at Bristol. long day.

The ratings were constantly being updated - by the splif almost.

A 5/5 strain would have to be pretty spectacular I reckon, some came close though.

I've booked a ticket to go before but then found out I couldn't - nice £200 bonus for bmi baby. Two years on and still a Dam virgin, desperate times. Some friends said they were going for a quick trip over for a couple of days because they had another trip booked to go later in the following year but couldn't wait. We had to get our fix of Dam - even if it was a little.
