Hello, During your, and my stay classical music is a bit sparse, I always check this portal when I go http://www.iamsterdam.com/. There are some free recitals at the new Conservatory http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/production ... c991dc4fcd next to the OBA library near central station, I will try and get in for one of those on Monday or Tuesday.
You will see a lot of change since 2009 especially outside and around the station area and along to the East where it is now all clear. The new concert hall http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/locations/ ... 112422812b has been built on the cruise liner quay, the new East Docks emerges from the hoardings and scaffolding and the waterside is a nice place for strolling once again.

Hope to you see you at 1600 in Bluebird, and anyone else around. Probably have a beer in Nes in the evenings.

Socrates, you and Diane must check out Dutch Flowers CS, it doesn't get much review on here but I think it is unique (slightly quirky), and, if you haven't already visit La Tertulia. Its not open on Sundays I think, or late into the evening. It's more of a tea shop with great people watching windows.

:D :D Ha ha Gapie, you want to come and see how the old Deadheads T&T :D :D

Happy trails

Thanks, Spidergawd! Good info.

We are thinking about the Concertgebouw on Sunday afternoon for the Benjamin Britton violin piece and that would be after a trip through the Van Gogh Museum in the morning. So I need to be sure about T&T time/day. Is that 1600 on Monday or Sunday?

Would enjoy a beer and stroll over to the two shops you recommended. Always looking to learn more, see more and of course puff more. I have done some online window shopping of what is currently available; looks to be the OG18, Habibi Riffman and Trans-Himalaya hash are top flight and the Super Silver Haze, Quaze and Kandy Kush for weed. Sativas are a good choice for day use and the Kush for sleepytime.

We are booked for the Poets Hotel, formerly called the Acro. It is in a quiet section of town near the museums and they have good breakfast spread.

Also, Gapie comes well recommended from twocanucks and we would enjoy meeting him if he is not opposed to the "old Deadheads" hahaha. I can still smoke like a young man! Our pal David Russel (friends with Michael at deKuil) has not replied to my email, so not sure if we will see him.
Would be pleased to meet with any other visitors or locals while there. Just let us know.

Old stoners rule! hahaha!

Counting the days now.

Ok.
Even an hour or so later for T&T would be workable.
The concert starts at 14:30, so meeting anytime after1700 should work.

Looking forward to it!

I notice that we may have scared away the youngsters. I suspect they may not be able to keep up with us. lol

Diane and I will be there morning of March 10 and only staying two nights. We leave on the 12th at 2100 flight back to London. Then I return to this side of the pond on the 16th.

Gapie, we will post the T&T as we firm it up but looks like late afternoon of the 11th @ Bluebird and then maybe stroll to a couple other places and possibly a beer. Always enjoy meeting new friends in far away places.

Spidergawd, looks like we may have some folks interested in getting together with us. Oh and I have something for you that I am sure you will like.....hint; STEAL YOUR FACE.

Well we're neither of us there long enough rush about, so any time or we could meet up a bit later for a beer at the Nes.

If there's a time firmed up, I'll try and be there - will all depend on the group, of course, but we'll be in the Nes that night for definite.

Should be fine though. Wish it would hurry up!
