I'm not an expert myself but I do know that the infamous Hash Bash invitation only contest was won last year by a dry sieve hash, beating out all the ices, butters and oils.

You're welcome!

Well here are a few of my observations:

Of course its not the best method to achieve the cleanest full melt stuff, but it does the job.I have never been overwhelmed by water hashes (as far as taste is concerned), it seems to me that something gets lost in the water...It seems that it takes some skills and experience to achieve a good batch.at my humble level, I find dry Sifting much easier, cheaper than other methods of extraction, including BHO which can be extremly dangerous and expensive also (good clean butane is pricey in my neck of the woods!)...

I have used a cardboard "drum" lined with organza mesh, a rotisserie motor and a square shaped chopstick fr the axis (I said Ghetto tumbler, remember?? ), and a big glass table fr resin collection. With a proper mesh size screen I reckon this method can do wonders...

I used trims and a few popcorn buds, cured fr between 4 and 6 months and frozen overnight. The longer you run the motor, the more plant/green matters you will have in yr "kief".You can press it or store it in powder form, knowing that the taste will not be the same.

I have noticed that the results were very strain dependant (maybe depending on the size of the trichomes).I recall a beautifull dark/oily/supercticky hash I made frm outdoor grown Super skunk (swiss cut circa 2003) that was excellent fr sure and knocked yr socks off, almost psychedelic high and sweeeet taste!!Other skuffs frm other cloned strains (G13x hash plant, Durban poison, great White Shark, Jack Flash....ahhhh switzerland was the sh3t back in those days!!!) had a bit more green plant material in it, therefore a bit harsh on the throat.

there are many different ways to dry sieve, you can also check the method used in the Rif region in Morroco (there must be some videos on Youtube), which I have tried also down there. The thing is to get a proper mesh fabric, and then the world of sifting is yours!!As written above, ICMAG is a crazy databank fr all Weed things

Feel free to ask if you have any questions, and let us know about yr experiments!!
