Great doco!

Truffles are nasty but good in (very) small doses, otherwise the trip can be very nasty.

Me and a friend tried these on the ferry back to North Shields. We sat for about an hour staring at my desktop background.(Aurora borealis) and we both could swear we saw the clouds moving with the wind as well as the colours changing.

This was only off half a box too very mindblowing especially how we saw the same thing it certainly made the trip better too.
Ive never taken mm before and will stay clear of LSD primarily because I don't think I could handle their power.

I would recommend the truffles though, even if they do taste like stale underwear.

Can anyone shed some light on what truffles are like?? Is the trip similar to shrooms?
Truffles and shrooms don't compare. The truffles I tried were bought in a local city centre shop in Dublin,Ireland.I got light visuals but not much else. I was expecting something a lot more intense. The shrooms I tried (hand picked from fields in rural Ireland) were _extremely_ intense. I lost all sense of surroundings, and the visuals were really intense. I mixed it with alcohol, i should probably add but my impression is that truffles aren't that strong.

Incase anyone is wondering, these are irish shrooms:

25 of those will give you a light high with light visuals & lots of random laughter, 50 will give you an intense high, and anything over that is probably crazy.

"irish shrooms" are liberty cap mushrooms. Grow in autum season throughout the world in temperate climates. Much of celtic tribal art has a clear influence from libert cap visions. Can be a bit frustrating finding them unless you know of a specific location for picking. Once you know what they look like it is easy to identify them, if you dont know what you are doing please go with someone who does otherwise you could end up rather ill eating lookalikes. Gram for gram one of the most potent mushrooms in terms of psilocybin content, however they lack some of the othe alkaloids present in other species such as copelandia mushrooms which provide an additional kick.

My experience with "magic truffles" in Amsterdam was identical to my experience with magic mushrooms, only better because I took more. It even has that nausea which comes right before the turn, just like mushrooms. I only did them once but I had the most intense psychedelic experience ever. When the effects finished I couldn't tell if it had been 8 minutes or 8 hours. I never found out...ha, Amsterdam is so great. :D

Just got some "Shayanensis" Sclerotia-- does anybody have any experience with these? They are said to produce strong visuals-- but probably that's just a marketing trick by Shayana. I will post a little report once I had the chance to try them.

I tried truffles on my last trip to Dam in July 2011. There were three of us, two of which were well versed in various psychedelics, from liberty caps to DMT. We went to kokopelli and got 2 boxes of the strongest truffles on offer to share. I can back up the reports that they taste awful, but then shrooms aren't aren't exactly the tastiest imo! We started to feel it after about 45 minutes and our non-tolerant friend was out of it, laughing his head off at any little thing (he was smoking a bit too). My friend and I were a bit jealous so I ventured out to get more whilst my friend spotted his brother. The walk up and down Warmeosstraat was interesting to say the least, buildings rippling and the 'cobbled' floor was just going crazy! Got back and shared the second box between the two of us and we were off. I remember looking out the balcony type thing on to Dam Sq and everything was in black and white except for the trees which were an overpowering electric green. After I'd smoked a bit stuff was moving quite a bit, I remember the Monument swirling around and the scaffolding on the palace was intertwining with itself etc. Later that night I looked at my phone and noticed the time was 22:30 so we headed out to look at some girls in the RLD, when we got there we couldn't understand why it was so empty. We then saw the bulldog clock saying it was 04:20, we just chuckled that every clock in Dam reads 04:20. It wasn't until we sat in Dam Sq for a smoke that we noticed that it was actually 04:30am! All in all we really enjoyed it, was a bit introvert at times but it never bothered us at the time as we were happy in our own little worlds. I'd put them on a par with some shrooms, no higher. They are something fun to do for a change in Dam other than just smoking. The back end and comedown were pretty horrible though. I doubt we'd have got to sleep if my friend didn't have a script for Diazepam and the next day we were just like empty vessels, nothing would please us and we just wanted to sit and stare into space, almost like the comedown from a mild/strong stimulant.

I've never tried psychedelics before and wanted to try truffles/shrooms on my trip next week.

As a novice would you suggest I do half of a box of strong ones or a whole box of weak ones? And is the 'come down' akin to an ecstasy come down? Cos I don't really want to waste the whole next day feeling morbid.

By the way, the best truffles I have tried in the last couple of weeks are called "Utopia" and "Pandora's Box". Highly recommended.
