I believe he's referring to Boerejongens. The menu for said shop can be found here.

Yeah, thanks geoffk

I've had a look at the menu and it's really impressive, both in weed and price.

Thanks for the original tip dconstrukt :D

I will be there in March.

Do you know which tram I need? How much are the trams?

Albery Cuyp Market
Wally's Waffles are great. I had the cherry and chocoloate topped one, 3 euro. Good fresh squeezed juice right next to him for 1euro, also very good.

Club Media
Very Nice shop out of the centrum. My new favorite shop that has taken that spot from Paradox.
Love the chilled and helpful budtendress. Nice cheap drinks and snacks. Comfortable clean shop, this is the perfect shop to take a wife/girlfriend who is not into the whole coffeshop thing too much.
They also sell great weed for cheaper prices.
Club Media Purchases

Pot of Gold
This was very good herb especially for the price. Smelled and tasted like a cheese cross to me. Had nice day strength buzz. Highly reccomended. 8/10

Lemon Skunk
Nice strong Skunk with a light lemon smell and taste. Good strong buzz. 8/10

Silver Bubble Haze
Nice Haze, typical Haze taste with an added sweetness. 8/10

Tropical Skunk
Nice skunk for the price. 8 euro g 7.5/10

Great Shop!

Katsu
Didn't care very much for this shop. The budtendress had an attitude and while she didn'y say anything untoward to me. She seemed to be worried I was gonna steal something and was just kinda acted cooly the whole time I was there. Like she just wanted to get your money and for you to be gone. Just didn't like the vibe. The bud I got here also was some of the worst on my trip.
Looked at the Black Widow and it looked and smelled like shyte plus was wet looking feeling.
BTW been here many times in the past at least 10-12 visits and seems last 2 years is slowly going down hill in both weed and attitude.
Last trip here...

Bio-Cheese
Low cheesy smell/taste. Light buzz. Not reccomended. Was new on menu. 10.50 pg 6.5/10

LA/Lavender
Nice weed pretty and strong. Nice strong smell and fuely taste. Enjoyed this bud. It was very popular as I saw many people stop in and buy it especially locals. 8.5/10

Thats it for a lazy Sunday.

Haarlem
Believe it or not first time here in 7 trips to Amsterdam. Nice town alot like Amsterdam but smaller and cleaner and little less tourist friendly. Much more compact and easier to get around in. Had nice time went to see the Great Church and Hals museum. Will visit again.

Coffeshop Birdy
Nice Shop, Sign on window hard to see. I don't think they needed to advertise their shop as it was very much a locals place but very friendly. They gave me a free gift pack which was very nice.

Knetter 10e 1.1g
Great skunk. Smelled nice and potent skunky and tasted full on funky/skunky sweet. Great buzz too mix off head and body. 8.5/10

Amnesia Haze 10e 0.9g
Nice haze, great sample, strong smell and taste. 8/10

Amnesia/Cheese 10e 0.8g
Another very nice sample. Had that same amnesia smell and taste only with a light cheesiness added in. Liked this one for the added body stone along with the typical amnesia haze buzz.

Jelly Hash
Great stuff, Typical black hash minty dark smell and taste. Strong effects.
Image

They also have a nice deal where if you buy three 10e bags you get them for 25 euro.

Birdy's 3 bags for 25 euro deal
Image

Overall
Very Nice shop, worth the trip to Haarlem for this coffeshop especially if looking for a chilled spot to smoke premium buds.

T'Huis
Nice and clean but very small shop. Cheapest prices on drinks I saw in any shop anywhere, 1 euro coffees.
Very much a locals shop but felt welcome.

Bubbles 9e g
Decent example of Bubblegum. Nice smell and looked nice but didn't taste as sweet as I like my Bubblegum to.

Haarlem is worth checking out especially on a longer trip. Reccomended.

Tuesday and Wednesday February 14 and 15, 2012

Spent these two days just chilling at the apartment and walking around the Jordaan area with trips out for food and buds. Mostly buy-n-flys.

Paradox again.
Amnesia haze
very nice again.
Spacecake
Very good as usual gives a nice body effect very nice for aching leg and back muscles if you aint use to all this walking lol

Image

Dutch Flowers
Small shop with 5 tables and some old movie theatre seats. Has a great view of the canal. this would be a great shop to sit in while it's raining or cold and just people watch. Friendly budtender happy to show me the buds I wanted to see.

Vanilla Queenok Indica. light smell and taste of skunk. 7/10

Nice shop will be back.

Tweede Kamer
Nice shop wood paneled. Effecient budtender showed me all the buds I wanted to see and turned on this spotlight when he showed me each tub that really let you see the buds. Overall nice shop but this was a buy-n-fly.

Casey Jones 14e g
Nice buds. Taste and effect were both strong. Would like to try this again. 8/10
Image

Johnny 10e g
Modern coffeeshop. Walled in area to smoke in. Buy-n-fly for me. Budtender with the dreads was courteous and helpful.
Cheese
Nice example about the same as the cheese all over town.

*Probably shops strains I forgot (averaging 6-7 grams a day, solo)

Enjoyed these installments- thanks!

I kind of agree about Katsu- I don't have specific complaints about the gear I bought there on my last several trips, but nothing was soooo amazing that it makes the less-exciting service worth it to me. Also, they used to be a bit of a value, but these days they've gotten expensive.
Because life is too short to smoke bad bud.

Im kinda tired from the last weeks walking so gonna take it easy today. Started with breakfast at Bulldog Leidseplein. I dont buy weed there but when it's not too busy I really enjoy there food and location. Then went to see the new "Ghost Rider" in 3D, It was pretty cool.
When I went in to eat I knew I had about 1 hour to eat and leave to make the movie in time. After eating I started smoking and realized half way through my joint I had to hurry or was gonna miss the movie, and here they dont let you buy tix if it past show time. So, I furiously smoke down my joint of G-13 Haze I brung with me and pratically run to the the DeMunt Cinema...
Well, good thing I rushed as I was fifty minutes early!
So, since my freak out got me there early I saw stix was close and went for a pre-movie smoke.

Stix
Nice modern decor in a clean small shop. Friendly budtender showed all buds and gave good advice. Reccomended shop. Been here before and will go again.

Super Silver Haze 12e g
Nice well cure sample a good bud for movie watching as it doesnt make you wanna go to sleep in the movie. 8/10

Crush Coffeshop
The inside of the shop was bright and clean with a walled a few tables to sit at. Not sure on the particulars as this was a buy n fly.
Budtender was a older guy who didn't speak English well and was a little standoffish may have been due to the language barrier though.

Secret Kush: 13 e.g.
This is really nice herb. Nice kushy/fuely smell. I beleive it to be a Sour Kush cross. Tastes good and kushy also. Strong herb, 2nd best Kush so far after the Kosher Kush at Voyagers. 8.5/10
Image

Chocolope: 12e.g.
Usually dont buy this stuff as I found it very weak when I had it before. This was a grade A example and while not as strong a buzz as the Kush it was still quite strong. Nice sweet taste and smell, very nicely crystalized. 8.5/10
Image

Iceolator: 15e p.g.
Dark hash in paper thin sheets that break up and powder easily. First Icealator I've had in the dam and it was just ok...too expensive, doesn't hold candle to Trans Himalayin.....7.5/10

Decided to get to the center/Haarlemerstraat area to do some sight seeing and hit a couple shops I like in the area. Had breakfast at LaGrote (one of my favs for munch and smoke), I had the Utsmiter with bacon and cheese it was killer and only 6.50e!

Utsimeter from LaGrote
Image

Greenhouse
I think most have been here a touristy shop but still has neat decor with fish tanks in the floor. Budtender was ok, but he was very busy.

Hawain Snow 15e g
It was ok, kinda wet but was able to smoke it in a loosley rolled joint. Just an ok Haze, I did get high but for 15e g, I expected way more. Not reccomended. 6.5/10

Quaze Haze 16.50e g(?)
Much better than the Dr. Grinspoon from Stones. I got a good high off of it but still don't see the hype on this one, not worth the price IMO

Anyday
Cool shop with a few tables upstairs that all have Verdampers(dirty) in each of them. Nice shop friendly and helful budtender. Like this place only complaint is they need to clean the verdampers occasionaly.
Liked this shop will be back again as I do most trips.

King Kong 14.50e g
Tasted like a Kush. Nicely cured and tasty. Nice decently long buzz. 8/10
Image

Blueberry Cheese 12.50e g
Nice example smelled fruity/cheesey and skunky. Tasted pretty good with hints of berry and skunk. Nice buzz. Love these strains for taste not neccesarily strength. 8/10
Image

Rokeri
Return Trip. Elandsgracht location. Friendly budtender.

Super Silver Haze 10e g
Very nice sample would buy again. Nice taste and effects. 8.5/10

Great reporting, Big Dan. Nice to hear about Haarlem, as I intend to go there next time I am over yonder. It seems to have a much better coffeeshop scene than Leiden and Maastricht, 2 of my out-of-Amsterdam destinations from previous trips.
I may be stoned, but don't take me for granite...

Saturday

Today I decided to get out to two shops I had'nt been to, Borjongens and Bij. I walked to the shops and saw a small market just a few blocks past Elandsgracht. I bought a really good warm Pastrami sandwich (3e) while there and some good snacks for later.
Image

Borjongens
Nice airy clean NONsmoking shop. Friendly and helpful budtenders. Most of the herbs were just scraps, budtender let me know they were due for a re-up within 30 minutes, so i bought a gram and the left to check out Bij.

Hindu Kush
Nice skunky/lemon smell and taste. Liked this one for the price. 8/10
Image

Bij
I liked this shop also. Clean shop and friendly staff. No smoking but there is a large skinning table. I got here and they also were waiting for their re-up, so bought some sativa to smoke by the canal while I wait. Then 15 minutes later they had gotten the bud delivery.

Oceans 12 9.50 e g
Very Nicely cured smooth tasting Haze and also the cheapest Haze I know of. 8/10
Image

White Chocolate 8.50e g
I knew this had to be some good bud as I kept hearing locals come in asking for it. It was nice and skunky in taste and smell. This is some nice bud and would sell for at least 12e in centrum. if I was a local this would be my weekly bud. Great stuff!
Image

Rokeri

Paki-Maroc 9e g
Bud tender recommended. Fresh and fragrant with flowery smell and taste. Semi-soft and got nice and crumbly with handling. Compares favorably with Paradox's Turkish. Recommended 8/10

Sunday February 19, 2012

Stayed up till 4 am night before so slept till noon and didnt get out till 2pm. I am sore and tired from all the walking the last 10 days so i decide to go get something to eat and then go find some herbs.
I went to Broodge Berts on the Singel Canal for breakfast/lunch. Had the three eggs with bacon and cheese all on top of some great bread for only 6.50e.

Grey Area
Repeat visit, was disapointed the first time. This trip was a little better and not too crowded.
Whats funny is, same 3 guys still sitting on the stools taking up half the dealer counter.
Place is starting to lose it's favor with me, getting way too expensive 15e g is too expensive for any weed in the dam IMO.

OG 18 15e g
Didn't look that good but smelled nice in tub, getting down to scraps. Tasted strong Kush and had a verynice bud was suprised. Not as good as Kosher Kush but still nice. 8.5/10

Silver Bubble 14e g
Havent smoked yet. looks great, smells great

OG 18 Iceolator 30e g
Looks like tiny little balls sorta like tiny brown BB's, Budtender says it's unpressed iceolator.
Honestly not as strong as it was touted to be IMO. It did give a little extra kick to my joints for the night. 7.5/10 too expensive
Image

LA Woman 13.50e g
Nice tasty strain. I liked this one and it had a nice kick, not as stong as the OG 18 but still very nice and reccomended.

Crush
Repeat visit, different budtender this time and friendlier and also spoke better english. Several people in the smoking room this time. Better vibe on this visit and all their bud looked good and turned out good so far. Great prices.

White Russian 8e g
Nice white strain. Not a real strong smel unless you squeeze the buds, then you get a light lime smell. Not a real strong stone but good too roll iceolator laced joints with. 7.5/10 Nice value.
