Finally!!after visiting nearly 40 times in 10 years,ive not been in town for 16 months now and its been killing me,had to take a break to move and renovate a new house for our new arrival to the family.
Thankfully everything went ok,done the house in time and after a looooong labour,our gorgeous wee girl arrived,healthy, and happy.
A busy,amazing year with hardly any time to think,but im always dreaming about my next trip,usually to get me through my working day or in my smoking den.
Was booked up for both november then december but Embralady and me werent ready to leave the wee one yet,still not sure we are,sure the guilt will be terrible but still really miss amsterdam too,now due to arrive saturday morning,going home monday night.
Onto the trip(if i get there) ,ive read so many trip reports that my list of must buys/shops to visit is about 4 pages long so as usual well just keep it casual,were staying on nieuwezijds voorburgwal ,so definetely gonna try out utopia,like what im hearing about there,and never been to voyagers yet, there definetely getting a visit,i like media too,amnesia for the non smoking wife ,maybe funky munky if were passing,along to nes after dinner,apart from that ill just follow my nose,we never really have plans apart from me-smoke and Embralady-shop.
Not looked for TnTs yet but if theres any ill try to pop along,im 5'10" slim,shaved head,joint in hand,grin on face,Embralady is 5'2" brunette,will be permanently texting home or on skype

Congrats on the little girl. It's never easy to leave them with someone else for the first time, but it will be for the best for not just you and your wife biut probably your little girl as well.

I'm in town starting Sunday and will be hitting many of those same shops you mentioned. Not sure how I'll be feeling after my long flight so I have not set up any TnTs for that day yet. But i will definitely be out so if you see a middle aged dude with a goatee and an ACD map, say hi!

Cheers too Cisco,ive been watching but woulda felt a bit of a fraud to give advice to anyone when ive been away so long,gonna try a couple of your tips while im there,that critical hash if its about and that bit of import black from bluebird if i remember right
Still hoping the wife gets past the front door first,flight tomorrow at 7 am all being well
