Any idea when this comes into effect?

I'm just back myself and nothing was mentioned and I plan to go on the 12th March again.

The initial report said 'fairly soon', but other articles on the net have suggested it'll be sometime in 2013 or earlier if they can get the legislation required ready before that time.

So you should be okay for this March mate.

This is to take place "fairly soon" apparently according to the article.

This was posted a couple of hours ago after the weedpass debate today.

It doesn't mention the status of hashish produced in Holland though, but will if passed definitely outlaw hashish from elsewhere.

The weedpass is just the tip of the iceberg now. They're doing everything possible to undermine the coffeeshops and will get rid of it all eventually if they get their way.

Most disturbing is the last bit:

“We don’t have any plans to abolish the current policy altogether,” says Ard Van der Steur, whose conservative People's Party for Freedom and Democracy is the largest in the governing coalition. But he concedes that his political partners do intend to press for an outright ban and “prohibit all use of soft drugs.”

I don't suppose each council will be able to decide for themselves about all this.

blessssssssss

Now is that big enough or do you want it bigger???

And tbh unless you live in holland why the fuck is anyone bothered, you need to fight our war at home not hollands war, if they dont want the millions of drug tourist money then fuck them, it wont take long until they realise they fucked up big time. It would be 4k the loose off me every year, not much but multiply that and its a big fucking number to throw away in the worlds current financial climate.

Now the last time i post in these shitty weed pass and ban threads coz its all shit.

It always has been illegal,so what, we have is the Government saying and I quote, the word "want"this to me in relation to imported Hash was always going to come more and more contentious,no doubt what will happen is that there will be Dutch prepared Hash, maybe in the future we will go into a coffeeshop and buy Orange Hash,Canal Hash,Queens hash, and so on.,but then again this could also be one of those nails in the weirdness that allows you to buy cannabis, but everyone denies where it has come from, might as well just legalize the whole thing of commercial legal growing and get it done with.Just imagine on an optimistic outlook, that the coffeeshop that you go to grows, harvests and sells you as a customer top grade weed, with of course the provisio that in all likliness your money via tax is funding some right wing weirdo party.
if you cant eat it drink it smoke it or snort it then feck it it mad sweeney

Are there any Dutch locals that can speak to the timing of upcoming elections and whether or not these right wingers are expected to be replaced?

I'm interested in hearing a bit more about this Kermit. Any idea what particular varieties of plants they use create blonde and black hashes?. And any particular strains and processes you can recommend?

Then, why the hell would the CS sell the "imported" hash 2x or 3x cheaper than the average Nederhash   ???

Of course, most of the weed up there is tumbled...
Another thing is why is the supposedly import stuff no where near as strong as it is at its origin?
That is not true (at least fr Morrocan hash).A bubble hash or dry sift made frm any commercial indoor weed will get you way stonier than the best of Morrocan landrace hash purchased straight frm the farmer.

I do agree with you though, a well processed iceo hash can be amazing tastewise, but, come on what a f*cking pain in the ass it is to make a few grams of fullmelt stuff!!!

a Blonde hash can turn very dark if pressed and heated.Unpressed trichomes are usually very light colored (except purple strains).

Interesting post, thanks S&S.

Here is another perspective to think about...
People keep making a point about how this will affect the Dutch economy, but come on folks, the opposition have taken this into consideration and don't give a fuck. It's very obvious, isn't it? Their actions speak as loudly as their words.
Continuing on, the war on drugs makes some people a lot of money, which buys them influence. Politicians go where the money is, and more money is to be had supporting the war than the tax and revenue associated with cannabis. I will let you all look for yourselves how much money The Netherlands spends on this war, and who benefits from it. Also, don't forget to take into consideration the items (houses, boats, cars, jewelry, money, etc..) that have and will continue to be seized. Billions of euros in profit to continue the war, less than 500mio revenue under current conditions... not difficult to see where the money is.
In the US, many people involved in the MMJ business seem to be anti-legalization, and I give you one guess as to why? Rhetorical, but I want to answer anyway - MONEY!!! If weed is legalized, the dispensary business takes a massive hit. If the coffee shop business is allowed to continue, those who benefit from the war on drugs take a massive hit. Think about those who invest billions into companies whose sole purpose is to provide a product or service for the war on drugs.
This is just a perspective, one piece of the puzzle perhaps?

As far as Hash is concerned, whatever, I'll make my own.

Just smoked a little bit of zero zero and it got me thinking about this latest attempt at harassing peace loving stoners and those who provide the Lovely. :)
If this latest restriction is enacted/enforced, how will they know where the hash was processed? If (BIG IF) they use chemical identifiers, this may only identify where the plant was grown, not where it was processed. Think about it...
So, will this lead to a ban on the sale of all imported products? As a gentle reminder, the import of cannabis in any form is illegal, and to take it once again to the nth degree, cannabis is altogether illegal but tolerated just.
More to ponder...
Happy trails...

I don't know of any upcoming elections. This is a parliamentary system so until the government coalition falls, no elections.

A whiff of xenophobia about this move ("the hash comes for Morocco, Pakistan and the Lebanon").
