Dam May Days

Greetings!

A bit about our upcoming adventure. This May will be my third adventure to Amsterdam. I'm bringing 3 friends who've never been before, and I am quite excited..we all are.

My previous trips were outstanding and far exceeded my daydreams. The city is fascinating, the people are friendly, and the offerings in the coffee shops were stellar. I intended to write some nice reporting posts, but honestly...I got blistered, and was just in another dimension. Only one sketchy morning. After smoking some strong sativa from the Gray Area (cannot remember which) I became ultra paranoid and sat frozen on their window sill for a long, long while.

I "aint" lyin', I was the proverbial kid in the candy store. I had such fun hitting up the shops and buying and smoking, and walking in big circles. It was a grand time!

This time out, I sincerely plan to at least take notes, and pictures and post when I get home. Confidence is strong, at least for now. (fingers crossed I will just do it)

We're coming to celebrate both my birthday and a friends 50th. We have some lofty goals lemme tell ya. Time will tell how close we make it to accomplishing all we will set out to.

I do have a few questions I've either found no answers to, or conflicting information on. I hope you can assist me.

We are wondering what temps & precip to expect mid May?
Any chance the winter was long and cold enough to've delayed tulip blooming so that we might enjoy them?
Is authentic absinthe available in a pub? (which ones)
Is there a pub one can blaze up in?
Where's the best cs to take friends to, to introduce them to vaping in a relaxed place we could sit in comfort for a bit?

Lastly, at least for the moment..since I wisely gave up the goofball notion of bringing souvenirs back home in my wazoo, I'm wondering if it is risky/foolish to have several space cakes in my carry-on for the 12+ hr flight home? Is that form of cannabis sniffable?

I look forward to your kind input, and hopefully this visit..getting to connect with some of you f2f to share a smoke and a few laughs.

Peace & Blessings,
Lexi

if you post your date FBN will post you on the whos in town page, and i would post a Talk and toke just to meet some locals and other Acders that are in town. if you have time take a train to Haarlem great little town great coffeeshops there too, as for a coffeeshop recommandation there are just too many , and really depends on how far you want to venture, do you want one close to your hotel/apartment , but a few do come into mind, Basjoes (still relaxing from what is said) Voyagers has some of the best smoke imo relaxing also, great bud tenders ,there is La Tertulia, i can go on and on, have a look at the map see what close to your hotel.
have a great trip,

Peace Matty

You can Blaze up in Most Bars n pubs if they have a smoking room. But if not u can make it roll it inside and stand outside and smoke. The Excalibur in the RLD is a good pub. Its run by the Amsterdam Hell's Angels. But they make u feel really welcome. U can roll your joint inside and there's a little bench right at the front door u can sit on. I've been told they have a smoking room upstairs. But can't confirm. Also u can light up in the Bulldog palace in liedseplein. Its a nightclub but has a smoking room with pool table at the back. Right next door to bulldog c/s.Most places will allow u to at least make it. And if they have a smoking room then your free to use it. The bulldog palace is good but a little expensive for drinks. But so is most bars in the city. I forgot Hunters bar on warmeostraat they defo allow u to light up and drink. again they have a c/s right next door and another just down the street on the other side. The prices are good as well. 10e for a pitcher of beer. Usually amstel or heineken. It has a big screen TV and staff are really friendly. What dates are u going from im going out on either 21st may or the 28th may depends what time off work i get. So if im there and you's are too id love to hook up for a tnt. travelling solo. Anyway if not then enjoy. Defo check out hunters. There's more Bars and coffeeshops on warmestraat. some of them though tend to be a bit more pricey. For taking your friends id recommend Homegrown Fantasy. As they are cool with giving you a loan of there Vaps  Popeye's is also one of my favs. they give you a go on there peace pipe when you make a purchase.

Matty!

Thank you for the good information. After I confer with my fellow travelers, I am definitely going to post a tnt. We are all coming from different continents to connect..so I have to ask them what day they want to do this and that. I am doing some research and pre-planning, and then we will Skype chat, and set the plans. I will post the date.

I hope my friends will like the Haarlem idea, I do. And also the Keukenhof jaunt sounds great too.

Craig!

Super details! Thank you, I took notes from your post. Looks like we will be in town 14May, leaving 21May. Watch for the tnt date, I will post one after I check with my friends.

I emailed the ogamsterdam@gmail.com about a canal tour. I am hopeful even though I've heard nothing back yet.

We also want to make our way to the shore..not sure how to go about that..but, it cant be too difficult.. :?

Still wondering about taking baked goods through security. I've a 12hr+ flight home, sure would be nice to have a few cakes to munch on.

Well...60 days and counting!

Peace & Blessings..
Lexi~

I've brought space cakes on the plane before....just make sure you eat them before you land anywhere and you should be fine.

Yeah as already stated just make sure you eat them before you land. I've even brought weed in the bag back through(Backpack) just enough so you can say you'd forgot about that if caught. Just a little bit. But defo with cake just eat so don't have to many ..lol.. Anyway if i get to arrive by the 21st i'll post in here and watch for your TnTs. As i said check out Hunters bar and the Bulldog palace for places to blaze up and have a drink at the same time.

Hellooo Fellow Stoners!

Today I begin my countdown to our adventure. 31..T H I R T Y O N E days until we step off the flight. I am so excited, my ass is tingling.

My friends and I have our tentative schedule put together with our wish lists and coffee shops we want to visit, along with plans for a few day trips outside of Amsterdam. One day we plan to go visit Harlaam. (Birdy's) I've still gotta get input from the friends so I can post at least one t&t. I want very much to connect with some of you while in town.

I am going to attempt to compile a travelogue. I feel very inspired by the reports I've read..especially cornish pixie's, geekymonkey's, old geezer's and Lamonts. Such great reads.

Even though I am American, I've been living in an Asian country for several years...a country where if you are caught with illegal drugs, they hang you to the death on a Friday morning at 6a.m. Suffice it to say, I get to enjoy a bit of buds once a year when I visit home for a few weeks. I just hope I am able to gather myself together sufficiently to compose a travelogue or at least make notes for later. Since its been nearly a year since I've sparked a bud, I am certain to enjoy each lungful to the maximum. :)

31 days.....I am so stoked..there are no words..just trying to contain myself, for the time being..

peace & blessings
Lexi
