Thanks Treetop...
The website you linked to is one of my resources.
I also go to ICMAG, they have a decent grow section as well.
All of the plants dried in the tent between 5-7 days, only P5 dried longer.
I looked at the hygrometer almost everyday and it was staring me right in the face - 55% RH. Perfect for growing, a bit on the dry side for drying.

I removed the piece of orange peel from the container after 12hrs; at first whiff, the residual odor is not a pleasant one.
I allowed the container to remain open for approximately 5 minutes, then reseal for the next couple of days.
I'm not in a panic mode because the bud from P2 is not too far gone, not even close. Because it's the driest of the three, I thought why not experiment a little for experience sake. I hope I don't screw things up...

If you have other plants still going, you'd be better off pulling a few fresh leaves off those and putting them in the jars instead of orange peels.
Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

Hey ZBeebs,
I wish there was a plant growing, this is probably what I would have done, or I could have taken a couple of juvenile buds that wouldn't have matured, and added them.
I've used peel before with mostly positive results. I could have chosen from a number of other reagents, but I wanted to try this again. Hopefully it will work out...
More to follow...

CURING
Hey ya,
Welcome to the final part of my grow, the cure. After drying the bud on the vine, I cut off the bud clusters and placed them into glass jars.
Initially, I opened the jars every 12 hours for 15 minutes. After the first week, give or take a day, I only opened the jars once a day for 15 minutes.
Most of the bud is now between 2-3 weeks of cure, I'm opening the jars 5 minutes per day to slow the cure so as not to dry out the bud.
Next week I will open the containers once every couple of days for a few minutes, allowing the bud to breath while I check them thoroughly for mold, etc...
So, let's get to some bud porn shall we? Perv...

Well sports fans, that's all for now. I will monitor the thread and respond to comments/questions, and provide updates over the coming weeks.

Thanks, Slo... :)
Doesn't quite smoke as good as it looks; Still has a chlorophyll (green) bite.
I took a couple of buddies from P3 and cut them to pieces...
The center of the buds are still somewhat moist, a good thing ya think, and reeked of wicked citrus.
Yeah man, simply  and delicious.

QWISO
Welcome one and all,
In this episode from our humble dirt farmer  I make QWISO (Quick Wash Iso) hash for the first time.
Piece of cake, what can go wrong?
No problems with materials, I had everything except for the alcohol. I purchased a small bottle (243mL) of 90% ethanol from the local Apothecary, enough for a small wash, but VERY expensive. Because of the cost, I researched and found a source that sells 96% Neutral Spirits, and cheaper. The next time I do a wash, I will be using the 96%, which will enable me to use more plant material, which means more hash. :D
The process is very simple and straight forward. Ensured the usual precautions were taken, NO OPEN FLAME OR SPARK SOURCE. Too easy, what can go wrong?
Step 1 - placed dried amnesia haze trim into glass container
Step 2 - poured alcohol into container, just covering the dried material
Step 3 - let sit for 30 seconds
Step 4 - shook vigorously for 30 seconds
Step 5 - strained into Pyrex baking dish
Step 6 - let sit in well ventilated space with fan on for 12 hours
Step 7 - scraped the dish
Step 8 - smoked the hash
Step 9 - got high, writing this installment

Ok, ok, settle down. Here's the porn ya bunch of pervs...

Does QWISO not need to be purged like BHO? That was the reason I stopped QWISO. Mine looked the same, as far as I can remember. I thought I had done it wrong tho, as it wasnt oily. I made BHO but dont think I purged it right. It really got me high, but that could have been anything left in it. I havent made oils since.

I love Bubble tho, seems cleaner and easier (even if it if more labour intensive). I cant wait to use fresh trim.

Weird, how so? If you mean the shavings, it's the result of being scraped by a razor.

Depends on ones method of purging I suppose. BHO can take months, ala Spoon.
Heat can be used to speed up the purging process, the caveat being that quality may suffer, or so I'm told and have no reason to disagree, yet.
From what I've read, the purge occurs when the QWISO is being fanned for 12 hours.
As far as I know, QWISO isn't supposed to be oily like BHO.
I scraped the fuck out of the dish to get the crystals. I need to buy a proper scraper, which I intend on doing before I wash again.
You stopped because you thought/think that QWISO needs to be purged like BHO? That's your choice but maybe you should rethink.
When the plate or dish or whatever is dry, the alcohol (like Elvis) has left the building. Again, oil is different - the butane in the form of bubbles needs time to make its way out of the goo. In my QWISO, there wasn't any goo.
I have yet to try my hand at making bubble hash, so I can't comment if it's easier and cleaner or not.
The only difficult part of this entire procedure was scraping the hash with an improper device. Nothing dirty about it if one takes their time.

Happy farming...

Then maybe it's time you made some QWISO. Just kidding.
My gear looks the same as that of most of the pictures I've seen of QWISO, at least when first scrapped.
I've put the gear into a baggie and now looks just like bubble hash because the crystals have broken down some from being handled.

First mistake, a newbie mistake - I sprinkled a little bit into the bowl and put fire to it. Talk about full melt, one second it was there, the next it was gone like water being poured into dry sand. Needless to say I had to do a recovery procedure.
Now that I've embarrassed myself, I preloaded the bowl with some lovely, then I added the crystals. Oh my, what a difference - ya think?
Although muddled by the weed, the taste was nice and the high quick to the head, very quick indeed.
I look forward to doing this again, but with one change - a better scrapper.

Happy farming...
