Hoge De Veluwe National Park

Post by spliphy2 »

This visit is from 2009 and the weather was great for seeing the statues and riding the "white bikes" at this park in the Gelderland Province of the Netherlands.

we had a great time but it was not long enough since we got to the area a little too late in the day and were only able to spend 45 minutes in the Kroller Muller gallery before it closed. we intend to make it back to this park and do it justice. we should have went in the museum first and then walked the statuary grounds since it stayed light out until about 10pm while the gallery closed to our disappointment less than an hour to when we started about 4:30 if iirc.

The way that I did the park was, go to Arnhem the day before, spend the night and have the entire next day in the park.

Enjoy

you did it the smart way. we were green as to what the transport arrangements involved and were in the lurch having to wait over an hour after arriving by train in the area. it seems if we would have gone straight to the buses for the shuttle to the park we wouldn't have had to wait at the bus park an hour. also, no one hardly spoke any English it seems in that region so we or they were always looking for someone to translate. :?

please post some pictures if you have them :)
