What do the Dutch do for weed?

Post by mahatmadasilva »

I've always been curious about this. Surely the dedicated Dutch smoker will be wanting to buy in quantities larger than 5g at a time, for convenience and for bulk discount. Have coffeeshops obliterated the need to buy anywhere else, or are there still weedguys to ring up if you're looking for an ounce?

But...how do you grow? Just a plant in the house, casual-like? Or dedicated growing stations?

As i understand it private citizens used to be able to grow up to 5 plants at home but now mostly cannot. Was that to stop co-op grows?

In a lot of places I've been in Amsterdam even most of the customers are Dutch so surely many go to a local coffeeshop for weed. After all growing is not for everyone.
How much did you produce?

The reason coffeeshops came into existence was to separate soft and hard drugs. It was a place for "locals" to get cannabis products without having to deal with street dealers who wanted to sell them other things. The tourist phenomena didn't start till much later. So most locals do shop at coffeeshops. Many shops will sell more to their good customers and many customers sell to their shops. Where do you think it comes from? Some locals do grow their own but it is getting more difficult. In fact, SEON(local cannabis police) send scratch and sniff post cards out to neighborhoods and encourage people to rat out their neighbors. Great place huh?
