August Birthday trip!!!18th-22nd

Slight change of plans for myself. I was going out to the Dam either on the 21st or 28th May. But now I won;t be getting the time off work to go. Work has been snowed under these past few weeks and it's set to continue to the end of June. But I have won here as i had told my boss I already had booked my flights and hotel. I actually did have the hotel booked and was doing the flight on Friday. but the boss didn't know that. as I said he thought it was all done. So when he told me I couldn't get the time off I kicked off saying how much money I would be out. So he has now agreed to book my flights on Friday himself at dinner time for the 18th august for me don't think I'll get the 1st hotel night of him but hey I'll try. He knows I'm 1 of best workers and they can't afford to lose me. Or they will have to hire someone to do my job and the job i fill in for I basically do 2 jobs for this company. So they would need two people to fill in. So in a way I'm gutted at missing out in May 
. But really inside myself I'm happy. Free trip out of the company and all i need to do is change my hotel dates for free 
as long as i do it 48 hours before I'm ok it said. Well I'm doing it right now as I speak. Bit more expensive in august. actually it is probably because it is now a weekend night I'm booking in on 
. Just realised my b/day is a Saturday woo hoo, honestly I have never been to the dam for a weekend night. So now i can start looking forward to it only 5 months god seems so long now it was only 2 month till may now its 5 . Who cares it's being paid for . Roll on august the 18th. Also I was going on my own in May to scatter my Wife's ashes and i think it would be better to have someone come with me. So leaving it another couple of months gives my brother and friend a chance to get the cash together to join me. If not I'll be flying solo again. Thanks to all the ones who posted kind words to me about my wife's death and my trip in may. took all the advise on board and that's why this decision was a bit more easier to make. Anyone know if there is any events on round about these dates 18th-22nd august. Hope flybynight puts me on the august who's in town page. he said i was on the may one but i checked and luckily I'm not. But this one will be defo. Staying at the stayokay vondelpark just received my confirmation booking there from booking.com Now the boss has to get me flights. Don't care who with easyjet,KLM or brittish airways. Just book it.
