Just booked my second trip to Amsterdam for 27th May staying four nights then staying in den haag for the weekend as its cheaper hotels and something new to do and finally back spending two days back in Amsterdam 4th to 6th.
I live in Ireland but flying over to my old home town Southend-on-sea, Essex and now the new terminal is open I've booked with easyjet under £60 return and just a hour flight so not too bad kinda like smaller airports these days less people and walking up half the runway to get to your gate.
Could not find the right prices for the hotels or apartments in the end I just got pissed off and booked a higher price range I normal go for. but quite happy with the price of the hotels in den haag and only 40 mins away from the dam so 10 euros train ticket is fine with me.
Kinda used to Amsterdam but this time not in a rush and plan on seeing a few places and more coffeshops as I missed out on a few last time like blues brother, betty bop and Barney ones and grey area was looking for amnesia and finally found the grey area but was 10pm so was close.
Just wanted to ask about the trams where do I pay to get a ticket or can I just pay when I get on them?
And den haag any good coffeeshops there? I'm kinda looking for one that centre in town not miles away. any cool places to go?
Can't wait still bit mad at the price as I paying double now as winter time was so much cheaper I gotta book another trip in December.

You have been posted on the May and June Whos In Town pages.uklad_in_ireland wrote:Just booked my second trip to Amsterdam for 27th May staying four nights then staying in den haag for the weekend as its cheaper hotels and something new to do and finally back spending two days back in Amsterdam 4th to 6th.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
I know what you mean, airfares and hotels go up for the tourists in the good weather.
Enjoy

You can pay each time you get on a tram but it's expensive if you use them a lot. The cheapest way is to get a GVB travel card. You can buy them at the VVV in Schiphol. They're not valid on the train.
