Do you know for how long the brewery t'ij is closed for renovation? You think it will be open next weekend?
website doesn't say it's closed it does say 'The tasting room is open from 15.00 to 20.00' and guided tours at the weekend
They never mentioned on the website that it was closed for renovation. Its a long walk to the brewery to find it closed.

I visted on the Monday 6th march i believe it was open weekend i only arrived on the Sunday 5th march. anyhow it was closed weekdays then. Hopefully decorating etc finished by now. I should of checked opening times online before i made the trek that way lol. i enjoyed the sight of the windmill never the less. There will always be a next time as long as the dutch keep their liberal ways.

day 4.
wake up feeling battered at around 7 am and can hear the rain hitting the apartment roof. Decide to lay in bed for a bit then nod back off to sleep awaking at 10.30. slowly get our heads together take a shower couple of cups of coffee later and feeling better.
Decide to keep to the centrum today check out around the north side of the Jordaan, Haarlemmerstraat and back over to R.L.D. etc. First thing we do is head over to Paradox. Absolutely loved this shop last trip and still feeling a little fuzzy from yesterday can think of no other better place to nurse a fuzzy head. Paradox is no more than a minutes walk from the apartment simply out the door over the Rozengracht and its the first side street on the right. Its nice and quite inside just a couple of locals pic up 2g of Kandy Kush which looks lovely and frosty and 1g of the the finger hash.
Kandy kush was nice a sweet and strong kush made me feel really zoned out and a little trippy 8/10. the Finger hash was amazing. A Nice floral taste came across with a lighter smoke than the heavy black hashes i had been smoking. came across as a indica but wasnt as heavy on the eyes. The taste was devine though and for the price was excellent. touch it with a bit of pressure and it just crumbles apart. Fantastic bit of hash more like a scissor hash in texture.

Spent a good couple of hours flicking through old National Geographics drinking coffee and playing cards. Weather is still shocking so when it finally lightens up a bit we head off up the Herengracht to Amnesia. Pic up a gram of Red cherry berry 12 e i believe which was fruity and strong enough nothing special though. i quite like the vibe in here as i never visited before. staff were really friendly and the coffee fresh.

After listening to some tunes in amnesia we made our way up towards the harlemmerstraat and into Barneys uptown for a burger last year they were great. I decide on a blue cheese burger and Mr B the chedder both burgers are fantastic but not worth the price tag especially after Pancake corners burgers at 10 euro which like i said were of jus t the same weight and quality i thought and came with more chips. sink a couple of beers and finish the Red cherry Berry which went together well with my beer. Feeling full and wanting to walk of lunch we carry on down the Harlemmerstraat stopping into Barneys i pick up a gram of Pineapple chunk and Parvati charas. barneys packed to the rafters so head off to Dampkring modern pic up a gram of chocolat. 8.5e Dont know if this is chocolate thai cross or what. but it was quite sweet and didnt leave to much couch lock quite light on strength but i enjoyed it 7/10. for taste and price. as leaving picked up another gram. We then head back round and down the spuistraat over the square and down up the warmoesstraat to the R.L.D grab a couple of heinekens in Bar remember with a couple of joints of chocolat then stumble up towards the Oude kerk to check out the talent in the windows and have a giggle. Have to say the ladies this year dont seem as fit as they did compared to my last trip or was it that i was more fucked up on my last trip !!! Pop into jolly joker as its the first shop i ever bought in back in 1996 and i always have to have a coffee and a joint every trip for me it has to be done. I guess everyone still visits their first shop if its still about mind :( so sit back and enjoy a joint of the parvati. Very nice floral black hash nice clean hit off it but not as strong as greenplaces twisla. Its very nice but like alot of thinks from barneys is it worth the price tag ? i think there's just as nice hash to be had at a cheaper price to be honest and next time will pass. give it 7/10 due to commercial price up.

Finish up thinking of old times and pic up a gram of twisla in greenplace and Mr B picked up a gram of Caramello. im a sucker for the twisla and hands down think its the best bit of hash in town this is now followed up in by paradox finger hash.
decide to make a joint of the Pineapple chunk and its shocking. wont stay lit have to keep lighting it even though the bud is light and springy and tastes harsh and almost artificial. Never had anything like it in Amsterdam 4/10 decide to just leave it in the ash tray complete shit. It looked lovely in the tub and i even touched it smelt it etc. Had a friend who bought it six months back and he said it was the smoke of his trip. Dont know if it was a poor flush or cure or if it had been sprayed. What i do know is it was my first let down from barneys which in the past has been great the red diesel on my last trip was knock out and the crimea blue left me looking like a extra from day of the dead. i will be thinking twice of returning due to quality of weed and hash for the higher price. could be the end of barneys for me. :(
Knock together some joints of twisla and kick back in the smoking room to the rear of greenplace and play some cards.
After pop to hash museum which is still under renovation but is moved on down the street as Mr B wanted to visit last trip as never seen it before. we check out the history of hemp etc then grab something to eat for dinner at tio pepe which i ordered some boritto and was ok nothing great but hit the spot at a reasonable price. wouldn't return to be honest as there's better around most likely. After dinner pop into betty boop and and ask the dealer to show us some items on the indica side of things i ask to look at the sour power and as he lifts the tub from the draw catches the edge and spills the contents all over the place. The tender looks up towards the ceiling for about 10 seconds and i thought he was about to fucking loose the plot where he calmly took a deep breath and says " that my friend jus sums up my day today fucking terrible" he places 2g of sour power (from the tub not the floor) and weights me up two grams. I tip him 2 euros of my change for his troubles which he's thankful for and we grab a couple of cokes and spend a couple of hours getting very stoned mixing hash and sour power joints. sour poweer was yummy and you could taste the sour diesel flowing through every drag. Feeling mangled now i mention to Mr B that we better get back to the apartment before my legs stop working as im saying this i havnt even got up yet and when i do i feel very very lightheaded. i manage to walk downstairs and out into the fresh air where i comment to Mr B " mate i gotta jus sort my head out and take a walk " and we walk slowly back towards the apartment. half way we stop at a bar and i order a couple of cokes which brings me back to my senses a little and then carry on walking back to the Apartment. As soon as i get in i make a cup of tea get myself to bed and watch the t.v. finishing off the chocolat and parvati and Mr B enjoys his caramello and finger hash joints. Then a couple of hours later i drift off listening to the ever heavenly noise of those church bells ringing in my dreams.

Not much of a view as its out the back of the property over looking the rear of over properties opposite. Its quite a large space on the terrace and i was surprised on arrival. Be perfect during the summer months to catch the sun with a spliff.

Final Day.
We didn't Have to check out until 12.00 and our flight home was 21.05 so we had our usual breakfast of bacon rolls and coffee had a tidy up of the apartment and collected our deposit from Arkrights. We were told that we could leave our bags in the back of the shop which was really handy. Arkrights service and helpfulness was second to none everytime i popped down for a can of coke or a chocolate bar the lady owner was always asking how everything was and if we needed anything. I would defo return to the apartment if i came on trip with just the two person again without doubt.
We popped over to Paradox and relaxed for a couple of hours finishing up the little left overs from the bags then decided that we would do the canal trip as Mr B never got round to it in the past. Got some nice photos then about 18.00 got the train to the airport feeling the blues of the trip home.
Flew into bristol collected the car and dropped Mr B home in Cardiff i decided to stay the night and save the drive back to cornwall for the morning. We had a couple of joints of blue cheese that Mr B had and a couple of beers and chewed the fat about our favourite strains of the trip and laughs we had.
So now the long wait until next year and start saving again.

Favourite coffeeshop.
1.Greenplace 2.Paradox 3. Rookies (didnt buy but liked the large shop and coffee)
Favourite strain
1. White og - Greenplace 2.Pot of gold - club Media 3. Edelweiss - 1e hulp.
Favourite Hash
Twisla - Greenplace 2. Finger Hash - Paradox 3. Nepal - Voyagers.

some loose photos.
