Lamp Heights
During propagation and transplanting the 400 Watt light should be 1.2m-1.5m (4’-5’) above your plants, being adjusted
when necessary to maintain preferred temperatures. Gradually the light can be moved down, a couple of inches eachweek. If the plants are growing well after a week or two (maybe a few inches high), then move the light to about 90cm
(3’) away from the plant tops. The plants need to be strong and healthy – at least 45cm (18”) tall - before the light is
closer than 60cm (2’) away. You probably shouldn’t get any closer than this at any stage of growth.
This is a rough guide. Ideal lamp heights will vary depending on the room you are growing in and whether an extraction
air exchange system is used. The main concern is preventing excessive heat generated by the lamps from damaging the
plants (too hot: look for leaves curling upward at tips and margins, over transpiration and general leaf damage).
If your area is getting too warm or humid you may need an extractor fan.

Just spotted the above in an old Biobizz pdf I had. Its for a 400w and I see the OP has a 600... raise your lamp and see how the next run goes. :D

Mikissa wrote:"A friend of mine" is having problem with his third harvest, seeds germinate as usual, but once plants start to grow (3-5 cm) they fall on their side and die in 3 or 4 days :(

Tried with those cube (sorry, i'm not native english speaker) and directly in the soil, same result.

They were under a 600 watt hps lamp, about 70 cm far and got watered once or twice a day with very little water.

Where could the problem be?
When starting as babies they want 2 b in a incubator box under flourescent light until their roots have sprouted thru the bottom of the cubes.U need only keep plain clean water soaked in cheesecloth underneath the cubes than once u put them in soil and I recommend cocoa instead, they still want to stay under flourescent lights for another 2-3 weeks than when u put them under the 600watt keep the light like 2-3 feet above them and gradually work the light closer. The plant could b dying from overwatering, chemical burns or being fried by 2 strong of light. Once they've sprouted through the cubes and u transplant slowly start fertilizing. Trust me I learned the hard way! GOODLUCK!
