Hooked...

Post by seasic »

Been hooked on this site for the past 10 days...great info on coffee shops & excellent discussions in the forums. The wife and I are making our first visit, Apr 16 for ten days (4/20 in Am'dam off the bucket list), also Utrecht, Leiden and Rotterdam.

Just from all the reading, as a newbie I think our first stop will be Voyagers (purchasing at a coffeeshop will be an experience all in itself), seems like comfortable starting point.

Was also wondering is there a disscus. where I can find out what coffeeshops you guys recommend should be avoided.
Or does it really matter.

Think I'll go sleep at the airport till Monday.

You have been posted on the April Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Come on out to the Cannalympics in Haarlem on the 21st. That evening the flower parade
comes into Haarlem also.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.

What is best for you? It's all matter of opinion. Don't worry to much about finding the best gear, its all good, and you will know if you ask to see a few tubs. Don't be afraid to walk out, if you don't instantly feel comfortable. There are PLENTY of shops to see and buy from.

Use the info you find here to best plan a 2-3 shops that really sound like what you want to visit, and go from there! By day 2-3 you will have a much better baring (direction) around the Central!

Enjoy your trip!!

I get what the both (RavenSte. & Redeyez.) of you are saying. You gotta stop at key shops, but it still a matter of preference. I hear a lot of good things about Grey Area, but thats not on your list.

I'm not a big hash kind of guy so that may factor in also to what shops I hit up.
All in all, it'll be a ball 8)
