So the eve of departure is nearly upon me and most of the preparations are complete. Euros purchased, check; clothes washed and ironed, check, online check-in to flight completed, check. Now all that remains is to prepare my Essential Amsterdam Travel Kit. That's MY Essential Amsterdam Travel Kit I'm talking about, so not things like clothes or passport, which are a given, but the essential tools of the smoking trade. Mine is probably a bit more extensive than most:

When I arrive I will purchase the following items to add to the kit:

Glass bowl for bong (I have a specific one in mind)
Small glass pipe/bubbler

Also I'll pick up my torch and spare butane from Gapie.

So I arrived, made my way to Utopia, where Gapie, DrugsBunny, AZlaker and Bleak were already well smoked out. Lemming and better half arrived soon after. First purchase of the trip some Champagne Haze and it was bong time and brief catching up with the assorted ACDers. Thanks Utopia for the free tea!

Time to check into my digs. A little further out than usual, I'm staying in a studio apartment on Van Breestraat, near Vondelpark. Comes with roof terrace and the obligatory mad landlady. Remote controls really don't need much explaining. A little shabbier than the place I had last year, but smoke friendly and it'll do. Smoke friendly indeed but she did complain about her last guests who spent three whole days in the room "blowing", which she said was not good for her. I promised to do most of my "blowing" as respectfully as possible.

The area is choc full of organic grocery stores, with indeed less than organic prices. Nevertheless I succumbed and bought a few essential items for the mornings ahead. Blowing can be such thirsty business.

Having stored my items in the kitchenette (kitchenette being an estate agent invention for a cupboard that has been converted into a kitchen) I set out for a walk, a bite to eat and ultimately to rejoin the ACDers by the time the crawl has reached 1st Hulp.
