Certainly was, got a feeling 2014 is gonna be a good year for the u.k grow scene, time will tell, few lads in court soon for a huge 900+ grow, might be pushing it with that amount but we will see.

I think cause of the change in the good old US of A our government is realizing that legalizing if only medical is a good thing and time will tell how it all pans out fingers crossed it's by 2016, i think realistically that would be the year.

just last week 2 Thai's where caught with 2000 plants, got 2 years. Do maybe 12 months?

My understanding (probably wrong!) was that recently there had been a relaxing of prosecution on people growing small numbers of plants in the UK. This was due to the large number of prosecutions the CPS were making of low level growers, and the costs associated.
I thought the general rule of thumb was 9 plants or less and you will be given a caution or worse case low level community service, then up to 28 meant low level community service or worse case 6 months jail. I thought the aim of the new punishment guidance, was to relax prosecution of low end guys, in order to free up money for going after the major growers.
Kermit, sounds like your associates got off very light considering number of plants and priors, maybe the legislation has actually lead to a softening on growers at all levels and not just at the bottom. Hope the big grows get the same luck !
I dunno if he got off light tbh, take a look at the Curtis warren story, 12 years for 1mill of weed but he could be out Feb after just 2 years, fair enough he has to cough up the 118 mill they think he made otherwise he will do the rest, if he didn't have to pay that he would be out in Feb after just 2 of a 12 stretch, to me its worth a punt for a mill of weed, 2 yrs is nothing, u can get that for giving some1 a slap.

That judge has always been a top class cunt mate, Sheffield is a place that you defo do not want to get caught growing herb. Where I'm from some local growers have been targeted by rip off men who will take all your herb or kick the fuck out of you and still take your herb. I'm far more worried about those cunts than the police.

I don't deny that judge has always been a top class prick, there are many like him though..... I have dealt with one personally sadly.
I'd rather give up my crop to some other gang than be dragged through the courts again, the process went on for over a year, it effected my relationship to the extent it ended(5 years together) soon after proceedings ended, i got evicted from my home and Not to mention the strain in put on my parents & family, No mother likes the thought of her child going to jail.
I now live in NL because this had such an effect on my life....
