NOT LEGAL IN ANY WAY, However, it's very easy to get, and as long as you're not a stupid idiot about it you'll get away with it anywhere.

We vacationed in Montego Bay two winters in a row - 2009 and 2010 - and the weather was amazing and the weed was plentiful. We didn't smoke a joint on a crowded beach but we did in our room and on the balcony. We booked a private car to take us to our hotel and he first took us for weed - both visits - and then to the grocery store for water and snacks in the hotel. Fruits, too. A great winter break for smoking and sun

The easiest european alternative is Prague, since they have their new drug laws which decriminalize ALL drugs in small amounts. they also have bars and pubs where dealers are sitting around.

Another alternative is Berlin. Berlin is quite cheap, compared to other european towns, but the police doesn´t care about weed.
You can buy in certain cafes, internet cafes, in parks and in the streets, everything quite openly.

I know nothing about the legislation in Prague, but from what a few mates told me that when they where there they scored some seriously strong weed and had a belter of a weekend

as a side note about Prague... the beer is amazing, great selection and lots of great places to have a few bevvies.

Prague, my favorite city in the world.... has excellent buds.

The best/easiest way to score, is to go to the Bar off old-town square, called "Chapeau La Rouge"

Go in there, and talk to the dudes playing pinball, or mention it to the bartender.

They sell really good bud, honestly, it was the best I've ever had in Europe. It was the equivalent of $6EU/Gram also, which was a nice deal. And they sold in north american bag sizes also. Eighths and quarters etc.

I got a 1/4 of the best Purple Haze from these guys that I have ever toked. Dense, Sticky and amazing. 7 Grams for 40EURO - not a bad deal whatsoever.

Add to that, the city has an epic good transit system. It's beautiful, extremely cheap for hotels and food if you don't eat out in old-town all the time. And beer can be purchased from the grocery store for about 1EURO per liter.

usually where you buy you can too smoke inside, just ask and you are ok. dunno about smoking outside but I think it's forbidden but never had a problem and i've seen lot of people doing it. technically speaking also smoking in pubs is forbidden but it's sort of tolerated as it was tolerated in amsterdam when coffeeshops culture started

I can attest from Youtube video of friends of mine. they went they bought, they smoked.. no problems. just ask first, assume nothing..

The Internet (in all its wisdom ) seems to agree with you. Checked it out as possible alternative for the 420 weekend, in case the dutch insist on the Wietpas. But as I understand it it's not legal, so if the cops come along it's better to put the joint out. And if the cops are really annoyed they take your weed, I'm not sure about further consequences. Still not as relaxed as A'dam today But a pretty city with good nightlife and more affordable than A'dam.

Some interesting suggestions but nowhere outside of Europe is much of an alternative for me. I am not going to spend 10 hours on a plane to Asia or the Americas to risk being stiffed by some chancer or busted by bent cops. Even in a liberal US state I would be concerned that Sgt tight arse will nick you for a spell in the state pen.

It's already been said, but I'll say it again... While not legal in Jamaica, you have to be a fool to get busted. And it is no exaggeration that it is everywhere... You will be offered it as soon as you leave the airport and then constantly the entire time you're there. You will have more smoke than you know what to do with. If you know how to haggle, the weed is really cheap too.

Then just use common sense. Smoke in your hotel/on your balcony or where others are smoking. Use common sense like you would at home and you'll be fine. Yes, there are lots of stories about people who have been busted, but it's always anecdotal evidence, you never hear directly from someone who has been busted. The stories about how the dealers and cops work together, that once the dealer has your money they will rat you to the cops, is just NOT true. It's scare tactics, and it just doesn't happen. Just don't travel in a car with it, and you should be perfectly fine. Don't worry, someone will be waiting to sell you smoke at your destination.

Other than that, they have beautiful beaches, amazing weather all year round, and the exchange rate is pretty good if you're using Euros.

Well, but for me the appeal about A'dam is basicaly that it is NOT like home! At home there are no smoker friendly pubs (I know of), they will frequently ask you to go outside or even leave if you light up. In clubs you're better off avoiding the personal for the same reasons. I wouldn't bring a large bong / vaporizer to a publich park over here, etc. Yes, I usually manage, but it's just not the same as Amsterdam...

It's very easy to score in Prague and the cops don't really give a fuck about it. Go to almost any bar and ask a friendly bar tender what the best options are. If they are the right sort of person they'll point you in the right direction (often to someone in the bar). If they're not, you ain't gonna get in any trouble just for asking. Quality is getting better there all the time. I got some very nice Kush there last December.
