Afternoon
Hi there, long time lurker first time poster
Long time smoker, 25 years this year.
Frequent traveller to the Dam, god bless Easyjet.
Heading out tomorrow, the 15th May for a couple of days R and R. Staying up in De Pijp, if the weather stays decent i think i will try a bike, in the safety of the Vondelpark, for about the first time in 25 years (Coincidence.....hhhmmm)
Found out about the site late last year after bumping into a local called Sten in Bluebird and have pretty much followed up all the site's coffeeshop and strain recommendations.
Keep up the sterling work ladies and gentlemen

Kind of last minute, but give me your Amsterdam departure date.
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.
Stan is known as gapie on this forum.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
There are some planned on the 17th and 18th.
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.
https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=78210
I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
Enjoy

Re: Afternoon, updated
Bit of an expansion on my introduction
Although i am from Scotland i gave up drinking at 14 and only smoked from then on. I worked for DHL in Glasgow for 12 years and loved the job until i was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. DHL let me go under medical retirement and just under 2 years ago now and basically spend my free time travelling back and forward to Amsterdam, 17 times so far since Aug 2010, or going stark staring mad in front of daytime TV. I used to be heavily involved in the Subaru community in Scotland but since the diagnosis i have had to downsize my Subaru from a bonkers 440 bhp Impreza to about 70 bhp in my Justy. Instead of hammering around the highlands annoying the local constabulary i now am grateful to be able to get in a car that will get me to the hospital or better still a taxi that will take me the mile from my house to Glasgow Airport and onwards to that special place we all love
2 reasons why i love the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular. One is obvious but the other is a godsend for me and that is the flatness of the country. In Scotland i cannot walk that far without the pain starting to reach stupid levels and the glorious part for me is that Amsterdam is so flat, beautiful and interesting. I can wonder about smashed out my face for hours without feeling too much pain or discomfort. Bloody hell next visit i am gonna try a bike for the first time in 20 odd years in safety of the Vondelpark. If that goes well then i may venture onto a Scooter and head a bit further afield but we will see how the push bike goes first
Cannabis does not cure my pain, i really wish it did but the mighty herb does help in the fact that it helps my mind forget the pain that my body is feeling. Even though i feel the same amount of pain my mind deals with it better and can ignore the majority of the pain, best strain i have found for this is the beautiful Black Widow that Katsu sells with the Kush from Ibiza a close second. A mention to the space cakes from Resin as they are pretty special in the " fucking hell where did the last 4 hours go " department
I really enjoy this forum and only wished i had found it earlier as it would have helped in the early days of walking about aimlessly, just glad i am not majorly lost in a another European city.
Peace, respect and above all keep up the good work

Re: Afternoon
Hello and welcome,
comforting to know that you can get some peace and relief in the 'Dam with some 'herbal' assistance.
Quite a lot of us on here get our own therapy in this place whether it be physical, metaphysical, chemical or other
Giving up the pop at 14 made me smile, think you must have passed me the baton as that is about the age when I started with it - cheers.
Enjoy your visits while you can.
All the best,
RTnB

Re: Afternoon
You could consider the Segways they rent as an alternative to the bike. It's just to the east of Centraal Station, near some sort of passenger terminal (bus probably?)
Hope you enjoy the Damage; I'd give Kandy Kush from Grey Area a try, seeing what your favorites are.
PS: about being a Scot yet having quit the sauce at 14, that's some stereotyping shit right there... and by stereotyping, I of course mean hilarious.

Hi Grunt. The flatness is truly nice for pedaling, as long as the wind isn't blowing.Grunt wrote:2 reasons why i love the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular.
