Ok.

Most probably a very samey, cliched topic, that has been done a thousdand times before, but in my eyes, this is what this forum is for, information, opinion and advice sharing.

Never smoked it.
Never bought it.

I'm a three or four times a week smoker, a couple of beers and a couple of joints.
Same when I'm in Amsterdam.

Although reading on this forum, the ice section of menus has got me slightly interested, seeing as the coffeeshops may be in a slight decline, I'm tempted to try it for the experience when I'm in Amsterdam in August.

A few questions...

What am I to epxect?
What am I looking for and where?
How much should I be paying?

If you want isolator , definetly dont buy it in the center of amsterdam , cause its EXPENSIVE there.
And your likely to buy crap.

i'm not so much of an isolator man so this might NOT be the BEST advice
but this is what i know :

Barneys does a great isolator , but you pay allot for it.
Club Media has cheaper isolator at around 20euros . pretty good imo
Anyday OGKushIce 35euros verynice


What to expect ? your head taking bashes and becoming EXTREMELY high , as if your floating
Taste is also very diffrent than import hashish

I was thinking the Dampkring or the Grey Area, but I'm open to anything.

I'm not a fan of Barneys, I walked down there last October and the black guy behind the counter, was nothing short of an arsehole, realised I wasn't easy intimidated and then tried to be my friend, to which I wasn't impressed.
Nor was I impressed by the overpriced Tangerine Dream, plus you couldn't move in there.

Also, how much am I looking to put into a joint?

Should, I just put the lot in, and put Pink Floyd on and lie on my bed?

i think using iso in a joint is a waste .
Bonging concentrates is the way to go .


But if you insist on putting it in a joint ,
i would just roll up a sativa joint and add 0.2 - 0.4 grams of iceolator too it .

Smoke that the first thing in the mornin and you'll be floating till early afternoon

I've never even smoked hash in a bong.
I'm not a fan of the taste.

IMO, taste is the main reason for smoking hash.
I don't know how many different hashes you've smoked, but tastes can vary quite a lot.
If you don't like the taste, there is not a lot of reason to smoke hash at all.

Yeah, have to agree that taste/aroma are the main draws for me. At first, they all tasted the same to me, but then as I sampled more, I realized there was a huge variety. Kinda like wine or beer.
My favorite, by far, ice is the crystal clear from Katsu. This stuff made me feel like I was just about tripping. Now, I also have to say it was my first experience with the stuff, and I tend to always reserve my first experiences in Amsterdam as my favorite. But I've paid a lot more and never achieved that same brutal buzz in any of my subsequent trips.
If it's business as usual there next April, or anything close to it, going back to Katsu for that very reason is a must for me.

I'd say you can expect to be ruined off Iceolator and for a pretty long time too.

Only smoked it once, back in Roosendaal when the coffeeshops were still open. I was whacked off about a 0.2 gram joint for several hours. Was a daily smoker back then, too.

It was a little too much for me tbh, but no worries if you know what to expect: a powerful high.

The last few times I have been to the dam I only smoked Ice o lator. I'm getting old so I want to get as stoned as possible with the min amount smoke.

The Ice ,O2 and Sky from the blue bird are all really nice and strong and worth money IMO

I only sampled the 20 E water works from the Dampkring. It was pretty strong but had a lot of plant matter in it. Same goes for the Abraxas 20E ice.

Sampled the liberty melt from barneys a couple of times it is a very nice hash but not as good as the other 50/60 E Ice o lators

I would like to put an end to the fiction that you shouldn't smoke iceolator in a spliff, I put a g of GA's casey jones isolator in a spliff on it's own and it's the best smoking experience I've ever had! Not in terms of taste (peppery taste), but in terms of being on another planet! Really really intense buzz, made me feel like my eyes were on fire, and my head was just swimming! Took me and my gf an hour to smoke, and it was just bliss! Contrary to that experience was the as mentioned above Liberty Melt, in a bong... horrible, taste was horrible, the high was there but nowhere near the level of the casey jones! Not even comparable! Casey was eu30 and the liberty was eu60...

Casey jones ice was a lot drier and crumblier than the liberty melt tho, the liberty was more like black sticky hash. Imo, if you are spending eu60 on some full melt u want that sh*t to disapear, not just bubble and then be left with something resembling a block of charcoal!

I've always wanted to try amnesia's, amnesia ice as well but never got round to it!
