Anyone planning on being in AMS for New Years Eve this year? Booked 12/23 - 1/2 ! Was sick as hell last year during my visit, so this year is going to be

If the "ban" does take place, what can we expect that night? Curious to hear peoples thoughts.

Most obvious:
1) One BIG queue through the Dam with exits to every CS.
2) Heaviest border controls Europe has ever seen.

You have been posted on the December and January Whos In Town pages.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... ile&u=7693

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

The wife and I are looking at spending Christmas and New Years in Amsterdam. Our Anniversary is on the 30th. Nothing set in stone just yet, will know for sure around Sept.

Any idea what December will be like? I'm considering going back but I'm a little concerned about gear availability if the tourist ban is going into effect in January. Any thoughts???

The shops aren't closing just the ban starting, so why would gear not be available? The locals that do buy from a coffeeshop will not buy shit so it should still be up to scratch.

Peace

So I suppose the shops close for tourists at 12 midnight and then for locals 1am.

I'm sure it will be the last night in a few coffeeshops. Especially those in the centrum that depend on the tourist trade.

Tempted to come and see Rome burning as well but it might end up getting depressing after the 31st. I'll bet buy and fly is still possible from a lot of places but they probably wouldn't like you getting caught smoking in their coffeeshop as I'm sure fines will be doled out liberally.

On that subject lets say I am in a coffeeshop smoking my own weed after the ban comes in. What happens then?
How much did you produce?

Just because a ban goes into effect, doesn't mean it's going to be observed.

So are we all of the opinion that the ban will come in?

Bump for speculation. :D

If this does go down, does anyone think there will be some events or what have you?

Would also love to hear which coffeeshop you would choose for that "last" night. If open that late, Mellow Yellow may be our spot. Wasn't it the first CS? Seems fitting.
