any DWC growers??
not had the best results from rockwool (could be me, might not of had them wet enough) so would peat pellets or jiffy pellets be better for this or should i stick with rockwool for the net pots. growing pandora autoflowers from seed. Also are there any decent dwc grow journals. and Finally..

Re: any DWC growers??
I have found perlite and expanded clay pellets work really well. It depends on the style of pot you are using and the way you are circulating/airating the water on what works best. I found rockwool works great for taking clones but sucked for growing in, just my experiance.
If you have any DWC growing questions just ask I can help.

been growing in rockwool for years...never had a prob..soaking the cubes...makin sure there is no dry spots is very important...good luck with yer new way...btw autoflowers are real easy in rockwool due to the short growing time...no long grow adjustments..just weed
rockin into the night
Re: any DWC growers??
You can use jiffys, peat or coco, I have even ran coco in the net pots with coco nutes, I take it you have run them before so you will know to watch res temps with warm months ahead. Enjoy
My best results was with cana aqua in clay but I am shit with rockwool too so use jiffys, not sponge ones though.

2 ended up ok 2 didnt, i soacked the rockwool, but not 100% sure on dry spots though. tbh its more about learning something new, but at the same time wouldnt mind a nice return. i will try again, ill get some jiffys as well and guess ill experiment a bit. im pretty good at making things but first try the buckets leaked everywhere and mate didnt notice, need to wait for the swiss cheese to finish 3 weeks ish for more room in the tent. thanks for the tips Sam,Bong Kermit.. if it messes up again ill take lots of pics and be back..

Gorilla grow? Whats that about?
Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?
Re: any DWC growers??
Just curious, it appears they are already in soil. Why would't you just put them in much bigger containers with a good soil mix? It is almost impossible to go from soil to rock wool. Rock wool is best if used from start(seed popping, or clones) to end. It won't work with DWC at all. Stays way to wet. DWC is complicated and there is really no good reason to do this. Stick with soil or learn how to flood and drain rock wool correctly. When plants are small, they only need to be fed(flood and drained) about 15 minutes every 3 or 4 days. Soon they can take once a day and after well into flower they can drink even more. I have some that take 3 feedings a day. It also depends on if you are using Rock wool croutons, 3X3s, 4X4s or 6X6s or the jumbos. The idea is to have them almost dry out before the next feeding. Personally I would stay away from the auto flower too. The strongest nicest tasting stuff is grown in soil by traditional means with lots of love and care, and using traditional genetics, Not auto or feminized. Yeah they work but they don't hold a candle to a properly selected pheno from dozens if not hundreds of plants then cloned and dialed in to perfection. That should be your goal. If you only want to grow some mediocre pot plants to impress your friends, then carry on. Haa! Seriously, good luck with all that. I saw a great attic grow in London last summer. He was using 2-600wHPS over 2 4X4 trays with 6X6RW cubes and pulling an LB a month consistently. He had the cubes shipped by the case right to his house. I thought that was ballsy.

The above plants in soil I presume are for outside , namely a "Gorrila grow"

Re: any DWC growers??
last summer i had a green house full of exodus cheese lowryder and g13.

not got access this year so found 3 great location in the middle of nowhere 8 plants in each for this years gorilla grow ill have some pics in about 7 weeks when i go back to check em.
those are not my tent plants. done those in my plasterboard and a roll of duct t5 box thing i made
ill have to take my camera when i next see them. im reading lots and lots messed up first dwc mate filled it to near the top and and the weight of the water exposed my sub standard work it leaked everywhere, second time no leak id say rockwool issues but 2 came out ok, just want to try and get 100% 3rd time round, mainly just to learn something and have it figured out. theres alot of shit i want to experminent out and bubble buckets seem logical step to proper hydro

Hi Stewart1976,
I have done a ton of hydro and bubble buckets are not the way to go unless you have a large reservoir with a bubbler in it and recircleate the fertilized/aerated water on a schedule not constantly. Bubble buckets just do not have enough water volume to keep the PH and EC levels steady without way too much effort.
If you are interested I will gladly help you set up a proper hydro grow just let me know.

Don't see what all the fuss is about growing in DWC.
I changed years ago after having to deal with soil all the time, what a frecking hassel.
I use 5 gallon buckets, 6" net pots with hydroton clay rocks. I've used those spongy "Rapid Rooters" for years and think their great. Very easy to use and excellent to start everyting from seeds to clones, no problem. And very easy to transpalnt into your net pot.
I use a "Luft" piston driven air pump that can easily handle 6...5 inch air stones with tons of bubbles. I use R/O water, but that's what I prefer.
I don't use a reservoir, I just feed the plants water when needed. I thinks that's the only drawback, because in the summer here, they do suck it up. Usally have to feed them daily but it keeps me in the garden and that's good.
Use the 3 part GH nutes and add Root 66 for a month on the clones and seedlings. Helps give me BIG white Roots. I swear by this stuff.
Keep Ph around 6.0....that what seems to keep them happy. Don't worry about EC. Change nutes every 2 weeks and always adjust nutes for each plant.....and I just add Ph adjusted water in between changes.
What can I say I LOVE growing this way.....very easy.
Read up on it a little and then you decide.

Re: any DWC growers??
Wanted to show a couple of pics of my DWC and how easy it is to run. First shot is 4 clones (3 Sweet Tooth #3 and 1Sour Diesel), 2 weeks in, along with a feminized Silver Bubble, a week in the DWC. Running a 400 watt MH in the 3x3 tent. Easy, and without the hassel of soil.
