5th to 7th June 2012

After many years of smoking I decided at Xmas that it was time to completely cut down the amount i smoked, as I'd realised that as much as I enjoyed getting high my tolerance had built up so much that the buzz just wasn't the same and it felt like a habbit rather than a treat.

So you can imagine my excitment when the Mrs and I decieded to head to Amsterdam at the begining of June (5th to 7th). Having only had three sessions between xmas and June this trip was going to be special.

Tuesday 5th June.

After a hassle free early morning flight everything is going so smoothly,by 1030 we've checked in at our hotel near the Vondelpark and are Heading back to the Centrum on the tram, A quick stop off at "Pancakes! Amsterdam" on Berenstraat and we're in Paradox.

Paradox.

Exactaly as i remembered it from my last vist. Seeing as i hadn't smoked for a while thought it best to start off with something not too strong.

5euro deal of Malani Jungle hit the spot although not too strong, it was nice and floaty reminded me of the hashI use to smoke 15 years ago.

5euro deal of PPP very nicely cured buds and went well with the Malani.

By the time I've smoked through these two,destroyed a coule of the homemade cookies and made a pre roll for the Vondelpark my other half is ready to go shopping.

After a bumble around the shops and a few croquettes from Febo it's time to head back to the hotel to get changed for tea via the Vondelpark for a cheeky,first time we've visited the VP so I was very cautious where I smoked the biffta but found as long as you're not on the main track and keep it descreet it was fine.

Had a real nice traditional Dutch dinner at Moeders on Rozengracht which I'd recommened and also was conviently located round the corner from 1e Hulp Coffeeshop.

First time to this CS, asked the impatient but helpful budtender for something strong, he recommeded the Kandy Kush , think it was 12or13 euros a gram. Very quick and powerful high.

Went upstairs and sparked up, Well hold my ears and fuck my face it was strong unfortunately neither of us was really jelling to the vibe of the people upstairs or the music being played on the jukebox, just wasn't our cup of tea and to be honest I could do with some fresh air.

Bumble along to the tram stop and head back to the hotel via the VP.

Wednesday 6th June.

I'm a very light sleeper and was awake at 0730 knowing that my mrs would appreciate a lie in I quietly get dressed and build Kandy Kush Biffta and head to the VP, find a nice spot out of the way to sit and smoke in the rain whilst watching all the ducks who think I've come to feed them. A short wobble back to the hotel and I'm sparked out.

That Kandy Kush is strong...

Several hours later......

Paradox.

5euro deal of Chocolope, Fond of this strain from my last visit,nice smoke but i'm still feeling a little toasted from the KK.

Whilst in Paradox several pairs of very young looking lads come in within 15minutes of each other trying to buy, the first pair when asked their age got swiftly asked to remove themselves when they said they were 17!!! the 2nd pair who looked slightly older but still borderline underage were again asked to do one when they couldn't proof their age. Fair play to the owner to the way he got rid of them,although his choice of Simply Red on the cd player was rather funny to get stoned to as we both remember our parents listening to it.

Several cookies, bifftas and drinks later it was time to go for a bumble and do some things my Mrs wanted to do.

A couple of hours later we're back in Paradox for a couple of smokes and to pick up a slice of Space cake for later.

Once dinner was out of the way we jumped on a tram to Central Station and called into.....

Voyagers.

First time in this C/S, after reading all the great reviews was quite excited to get here. The Budtender was ever so helpful,I was like a kid in a sweet shop sniffing all the tubs asking questions.

From reading the reviews on here I already had it in my head I wanted to try the PSG but ended up with a 10 euro deal of the Strawberry Sour Diesel. Would highly recommended this strain not too overpowering like the KK but a great high,Stayed in here for about an hour, real nice atmosphere,great tunes and was kept entertained listening to the guys (who seemed like regulars) chatting shit by the vape machine. Will definatley call back here when in town next.

A pre rolled for the VP and we're on our way,quick walk through the red light district on the way to the tram stop.

Paradox's Space cake is consumed on the tram and into the park for a walk and smoke before it gets dark.First time we've stayed outside of the Centrum and it's been really nice to see new parts of Amsterdam.

Back to the hotel as the cake is really kicking in now, apparently I was zonked out within half hour of lying on the bed but I don't really remember much.

Thursday 7th.

Up and packed, bags dropped off in reception and off to Albert Heijn to stock up on various cheeses and treats to take home including 6bags of my favorite sweets Ape Koppen and grab some lunch.

Rest of the afternoon is spent chilling and smoking a few in the VP until it's time to grab our bags and head home.

Hopefully will be back in December and i'll be hitting Paradox hard with a visit or two to Voyagers.

5th visit to Amsterdam and the best one so far.

Nice relaxing Trip report. Vondelpark is lovely in the summer. Lots of quiet idyllic spots to have a discreet smoke.

Gotta say I've never been overly impressed by the weed at Paradox in general. Something about it being in those tiny little bags.

The hash has generally been good there though.

A great shop in other regards. Lots of character as well as characters.

I know the pool table is downstairs & I was very stoned the times I went in but theres a separate upstairs aswell in 1eHulp not where the counter is
