Hi peeps im heading over for tripnumber 18 (I THINK) in 4 weeks my normal smoking buddy cant time off so think its going tobe my first solotrip any tips would b gr eat?

Im planing onfilling my days withsome photography just got a new wide angel lens

Buy your weed at:

Voyagers , paradox , grey area , club media , or siberie ,
unless you wanna end up crying about having bought bad weed.

Eat your food at :

Subways , mcdonalds , kfc , dutch bakeries ,
or Pizzeria Doria (cheap pizzas and pastas ,very clean place , right across the street from cafe nes)
or Cafe Loetje ( best steak in the world )
unless you wanna end up puking from foodpoisoning AVOID KEBAB AND GRILLS

Take pictures at :

everywhere , just keep on walking in whatever direction you feel like , theres great material everywhere


Get drunk at :
Cafe nes , Cafe Loetje , Cafe de Duivel

I have been solo to Amsterdam perhaps 18 times. In those early trips I did a lot of photography (e.g. Mamiya 6 and sometimes using a tabletop Gitzo tripod). The challenge when you are photographing is that you are distracted and then become a target for thieves. Therefore, find a way to keep all your valuables safe.

Holland offers lots of fresh fruits and vegetables so I like to stock up in markets (e.g. Nieuwmarkt for perfectly prepared corn on the cob) and in the grocery stores. Lafe introduced me to Cafe de Klos:

solo trips are the best!another place that should not be missed is the anne frank house,it really doesnt get said enough its my fav place in the city,but be careful no pictures aloud!just do a james bond with your camera there

Solo can be good! as long as you have things lined up, & try to avoid the same places everyday also!

IMO stay away from MC donalds, kfc and all those other fastfood chains, and ive been eating Kebabs in amserdam for the last 10 trip never got sick, only time i got sick was eating at MCdonalds,and a few on here got sick after eating at the KFC.

... agree also, I think goin solo IS the best!!

ofcourse there are okay kebabs , but there are enough where the flies just walk over the kebab lol.

Kebab corner infront of the station is awesome

Best place to eat in Amsterdam is la place in kalverstraat

the restaurant on top of the library is La Place too... the building and the view make it worth the trip over there

iam goin solo on the 27th august my second time solo had a wicked time last time but this time am meetin up with a few acders cant wait only63days 2go!!
