Mini Vaporizer

Post by davethecat »

Gday All,

Got a question for you all. I have to have a pretty major knee op later this year and I'm gunna be out of action for at least 5 weeks, most likely 6. A large chunk of this will be spent largely immobile trapped in the downstairs bedroom. To say I am not looking forward to this is putting it lightly. Now me lying around puffing on joints in the house will go down like a shit sandwich with the 'Department of War and Finance' so I am thinking a mini vaporizer is the way to go.

I am favouring the Magic Flight Launch box https://www.vaporstore.com/proddetail.p ... -vaporizer but I am not sure. Has anyone got one? Or are there better alternatives out there without breaking the bank?

Next thing on my list after Dam and a vape purchase is to start stockpiling while I am still able and if the quality lately is anything to go by, start curing too.....

Cheers :)

Hi mate
The MFLB is a decent vape for the price but I'm not sure if its the ideal vape for your situation
I find the LB great for stealth situations, such as in a bar or in the cinema (when you need a quick hit no one knows about)..
I don't ever use my launch box at home, simply because there are other vapes that are more designed for home use and in turn produce thicker, stronger clouds of vapor
I'd say if you got LB for home use it would do the job fine but i think before long (if you got quite into vaping) you would be craving bigger lungfuls of vapor and I could imagine soon enough you buying a home unit to go along with your launch box..
For that reason I'd recommend an extreme Q or a Da Buddah vape .. both are slightly more expensive then a LB but they are more designed for having a vape session at home rather then a quick sneaky toke like the LB.. Either of those are great starter vapes
I used to have an extreme Q as my first vape but upon doing more research i realized there are vapes that are more efficient .. I soon moved onto a log type vape.. Log vapes take 30min to heat up but you can leave them on all the time and just come back to them when you want to use them.. Personally if i was in your position i would save going through a few different vapes and go with a log vape simply because they are very efficient (Run off very little weed) and also due to their simplicity .. There are a few different companies that make log vapes (See links at bottom of this) i personally went with an underdog..

Below is a video to explain underdog log vapes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K70w377NaxM

Here are a few links to different manufacturers of log vapes:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/wychw ... vape.6379/
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-hi.4693/
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/aroma ... ckzap.818/
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/under ... izer.4214/

Only other thing i can say is do your research on a few different vapes before buying and find what fits you, because if it does become a hobby for you and you didn't make the right choice then soon enough you'll be building a collection of vapes and upgrading all the time, rather than finding the one for you first time round and upgrading as little as possible.

If any of the above doesn't take your fancy because your looking for something small / something portable then my advice would be to go for the arizer solo .. not only is this portable and small but it produces clouds just as good as a log vape, an extreme Q or a Da buddah
Hope this helps.

Hello Davethecat, I'm sorry to hear about your pending immobility, but happy to hear about your desire to stay high :D

I looked at the youtube vid and was beginning to like those log vapes until I saw the control box. It's nice using the wooden bodies but the rest is a bit primitive I think.

I use a Wispr most of the day, http://www.iolite.com/index.php/gbp/cat ... tcat_id/4/ absolutely brilliant, it's quick and easy to load and use it's quite cool to look at, and a fill of gas will do 4 or 5 leisurely 10 minute tokes.

The arizer Q is also a favourite of mine but you have to "set it up" to use it and thats not always convenient.

My MFLB hasn't been out of the drawer for a bloody long time.

In summary, the MFLB is a 1 or 2 hitter like a pipe, the Wispr is more leisurely a la spliff and the Q is a Tardis. :D :D.

On the mobility issue, I dont know whether you're in UK but you can hire powered wheelchairs for short term use and most places including public transport now have reasonably good access. Hope it all goes well.
What a long strange trip it is.

you don't have to use one of those big control boxes (I don't), he's just added that one in himself... they come with a standard 12v DC power supply (which will work fine although personally I bought one so I can switch from 12v to 13v so i can go a little bit hotter temp if i need to)..

After writing my whole post out and reading the thread back, i am reasonably convinced you will be most happy with the solo... gets the big hits like a Q or a log vape but is very easily portable

Just got one a week ago...love it so far. Wicked stealthy, barely a smell. But gotta get extra batteries. Takes a bit of time to use it well
