A lot of nice suggestions I must say. I definitely wanna check out the Resistance museum, Forgot to say that one.
Also a hofje is a sandwich, right? I think so and will probably get one of those this time around. And yes I will surely visit many coffeeshops as I always do. Tweede Kamer & Amnesia are two of my faves. I have been to Voyagers once, but will certainly check that one out again as it seems it gets good reviews here as well as Grey Area. I always pass Grey Area on my way to Amnesia, but it is so small and I feel claustraphobic so I usually just walk bye. I will have to man up and wait in line in that tiny shop. I also will visit Albert Cuyp market to get a hot stroopwafel (hope there still just a Euro). Anyone know anywhere else to get a freshly made stroopwafel? I only know of Albert Cuyp mrkt. My cousin and I happened upon a place that was set up in Den Haag just like the one in Albert Cuyp Mrkt that sold stroopwafels, but I am not going to Den Haag this time.

The Dapperstraat Market on Dapperstraat would most likely serve you a Stroopwaffel , and is a nice morning or afternoon sidetrip. CS Happy People at the endpoint is a nice shop ...and the Tropen Museum is in the neighborhood as well . The interior space alone is worth a visit , then you start to see the cool stuff on display ...

or

between Vondel Park and Overtoom . A Victorian getaway ,with a balcony Cafe to watch the Horsey action...then maybe
a visit to CS Tweedy right down the street. You'll know you're close when you get to the way cool VondelKerk...

This place is an ace restaurant and very unusual inside
http://www.haesjeclaes.nl/?language=en_EN

They serve a lot of Dutch food and the building's themselves are really unique, one room has a vaulted glass ceiling.

I'm off on the 13th of July with my brother and plan, like you to do a load of things I've never done before as it may well be my last trip, but a lot of those will be smoking in different coffeeshops. I aim to do at least five a day with the majority outside the Centrum.
In my eight trips iv never once set foot in Grey Area, it always rammed to stand in line and I'm always too fucked, plus it does seem from some of the reports that its very pricey for the quality of the gear. I will walk past again and if there is only a small cue I will go inside, if not its off to Siberie instead.

How about a visit to the Olympic stadium?. Well it was back in 1928 they hosted the event so might be of some interest to some?.

This part of town is called New South, and is full of early 20th century expressionistic architecture (Amsterdam School). The Hilton where John and Yoko did their thing is also down there, though not in that style.

Coffeeshops around the Pijp are good jumping off points for a visit to this part of town, though at the opposite end of the stadium's location in the New South district. On Van der Helstplein, the park that coffeeshop Papillon sits on, is a nice pub called Cafe Quibus.
