An apartment is imho better than an hotel,most Hotels now frown upon or ban smoking,quite a few apartments either do not mind or turn a blind eye ,some actually provide an apartment that is very much smoker friendly,it is the future of the smokers trip to the 'Dam.

Thanks for the suggestion, i was actually thinking about it myself too? Do you - or anyone - have a recommendation?

I have a Cannabis Tour company in Amsterdam called "Ganja Tours". Most of our guides were born in Amsterdam and know the city one thousand times better then any visitor or newbie. With such a short stay and your first time I think a tour would be a great idea. You can do it on bikes and see more of the city then most do in two weeks of walking. Great cannabis from private gardens is furnished along the way and the tour's are always custom so no two are alike. It is a great way to learn a lot about the city in a short time. Cannabis and culture are a great combo. I think Maria is available for your dates.

I would PM Gapie, maybe he would knows a 'real local guy' tour guide. He should be able to answer most of your questions.
As to if you have to buy in each shop, general rule seems to be if buy a drink and ask if it is ok to roll something from another shop, just don't take the piss.

yes you can still roll a joint with tobacco, still you should try a vaporisor.

If you are paying someone to be your tour guide I am certain that you would be able to see the city in a smoker friendly way and yes you are right there are smoker friendly boat rides. try searching for the St Nicolaas boat club.

around £200/nights does seem expensive, check the hotels section of the forum, plenty of advice there

Thanks, I will contact Gapie as he seems to be probably the most relevant source of information - based on my previous visits on this forum. Thanx for the advice.

I have never used a vaporizor, so be sure I will try this time
