Now this would be a story to write home about, having a couple of pre-rolled (by a master of his art) joints hand delivered to the airport, with the accompanying outdoor T&T.

If you guys get this set up, it would be awesome!

Red cubes? I'd have to make sure I had the window seat lol Preferably the first row so I can stretch out.

That does sound a little implausible....? It would be a story for the grandkids though lol.....assuming it's legal by then....probably not :-/

I would like to get out, take a cab somewhere and visit a coffeeshop or something but don't know what security is like at AMS. I also don't know how long it take to go from the airport (I think it's only a few km away) and actually get in somewhere and hang out and then get back. Does anyone have any idea if I could leave for even an hour or two? In London it took forever to get through security...the U.S. is not that bad...never been to Amsterdam, though.

Thanks Jess :)

I'd forget it on the way there but with the extra 30mins on the way back it is possible to get into AMS and have a short visit to a coffeeshop such as Central or Voyagers provided things go your way.

You'll need to keep an eye on the time and of course hurry off the plane and out of the airport to the train. If you can be on the train to AMS in less than 30mins after arrival you are on target.

Once in town, hurry again to Voyagers/central, purchase drink, hash/weed cake and a gram of the best stuff you can smell then roll up, drink, smoke and eat. Buy another slice or 2 for the journey back then it is time to go back, again on the train. This bit should take no more than 20mins.

Allow 1 hour to get from the Centraal station to your gate. I generally do it in less but it is nice to have a buffer.

You must be ready to go from the train to the gate without stopping. No left luggage, no checking baggage, no printing of boarding passes. There is no time for any of that.

You can eat your cake on the train or on the plane itself. Never had any problems with weed cake. Just take it out of the wrapper first!

The return leg of your journey will 'fly' by!

Good luck and if anything goes wrong and you take too long getting on the train. Abort and stay at the airport. If you ride the train and it takes too long getting into town you can always go straight back.

A fun little mission but certainly not worth missing your plane for so be cautious.
This reminds me of a movie ' Mission Impossible " very rich in technical details and well planned :)

It is Amsterdam!
You can still smoke weed there.
Many of us smoke the last of our stash before entering the airport.

But..perhaps that is not your style.

Not implausible at all. It's not like the red cubes are inside the plane or anything.

The idea would be for you to walk out of the airport's security zone, meet gapie, step outside to smoke a few joints and share a few laughs, and then go through security again and hop onto your plane.

Not implausible at all ;)

I only know it is possible because I've done it myself. Also that was before Voyagers so I went down Harlaamstraat which is further away from the station. I had 2 1/2 hours to complete the 'mission' and it was a success.

The one major drawback is that I feel that you can only really relax once back into the gate area of the airport which makes the whole experience feel a bit rushed.

However on the plus side a slice or 2 of weed cake really improves the flavor of the airline food!
How much did you produce?

Red cubes....makes sense. Is that INSIDE the airport, just outside security? Joints or edible? Being an American, all that's running through my head is "stranger danger" haha. Just no rufies....lol

So I'm looking at my itinerary and assuming the times listed are local. If that is true I will be in Amsterdam for 3.5 hours starting at 10:50 AM on Aug 5.
