Grasshopper - complete dump - not impressed with the menu - or the smoking area which looks more like a run down schools refectory - how can they think not to renovate? beyond me!

Thats the worst thing about bluebird! ie you have to buy smoke if you want a drink,Ps save your money next time & walk down to the "green place" instead

Grasshopper sucks due to the fact that if you want to hang out, every person must buy a drink or something in the seating area.. This is in RLD outskirts.. Lame..
I have a great hatred for Stix.
My first trip to AMS, we went there one night.. The budtender found some seats for us and sat us down after we got some bud. She had to do this since seating was limited and the place was packed. There were 3 of us.
We got our seats, and wipped out the card game "Weed" if anyone is familiar with it. The tender harassed us about not being able to play anything in there..
We took our smoke, and left.. Never to return.
I have never been harassed like this in any shop before, even when busy and we want to play cards.. Amnesia even offers tons of games for you to play and they are always packed.
I can say im very seasoned in Ams, been there 4 times for a week each time, and touched almost every shop in town.. Stix is the pits!

My least favourite was Le Canna, These guys really havent had any customer service training, nor have they been brought up to respect others and that manners dont cost a thing.
Last time while in the Dam i walked in and thought, i need a joint, i am going to give it a shot myself.
Ha, the budtender was a attractive young lass who couldnt tell the differene between sativa and indica, i laughed and thought i wil llet it go, shes attractive eye candy i will make my own choice.. i asked to view the best 3 buds relating to cerebral highs, (sativa) she still had no clue, and jsut said look at the menu.. Which i did.. I choose 2 gram of Orange Bud, i didnt like the look of the other choices they had.. This bud was Poor, i mean the taste was there, and it smelt like average dam bud, But the effects as mild as they were lasted less than 25 minutes..
I also had a local trying to scab a free joint of me, to which i told him i wasnt a charity case, to which he replied no but your a tourist.. to which i replied.. YES AND IM LOVING IT, DO 1..
I dont like people with attitudes, i dont like violence i dont like any of that crap, i mean were stoners arent we, make joints not war.. But if some scum bag thinks he can make a fool out of me while im spending my hard earn, then he got another thing coming..
do not visit Le Canna

Grasshopper hands down. I don't count La Canna as it's shut but I walked in there twice and couldn't find a seat so left immediately. With this web site at your finger tips the chances of a bad experience should be greatly reduced.

Fair play mate, I see you right. I hate this "you're a tourist, do me a favour attitude" it pisses me off, and the fact people think they can treat you differently because your not a local is bullshit.
I've read some horror stories on this site about people getting shrugged off. I even read a guy who'd had the door pushed back in his face and told "no tourists" while trying to enter a coffeeshop and it disgusts me. If that happened to me he'd be picking the door knob back out of his ass for the rest of the day.

I only have been to the Dam once, and I like to think I am very respectful of people, I understand I am a visitor. It's better to be a traveler than a tourist and all that. I do however have expectations when doing business, and in business I expect a mutual respect without condition.
As I said, I have only been once, and during those 5 days the only place that I felt rudely treated, and that was Prix D'ami. We had went in and bought drinks, and were thinking of playing pool, but no tables were open, so I thought, I wasn't going to, but I'll go have a look at some bud. The Budtender got the box out, and I don't recall the variety (perhaps mike recalls), he held the bud out to me by the stem, and as i reached below to take it by the stem to inspect, he yanked it back and in a snotty as shit voice said "you can touch it when you buy it". You know what?, fine...but don't hold it out to me without saying something. I don't think I encountered another place that while I was there. Usually I buy hash, and generally I can visually inspect it and know if I want it, so maybe the 6 times I bought bud, I just got lucky and had budtenders that would hand you the bud to inspect.
Maybe I caught the guy on a bad day, and I don't think that one time would prevent me from returning, but a second time would be the last.

I count myself in the more experienced coffeeshop-visitors, and its not the norm that they let you touch it, I dont know the real reason but I would say they have made bad experience with some customers running away with the bud/hash. but in my opinion you dont need to touch bud/hash to see if its good or not, at least for bud it is not needed, for hash it would be cool, but dont expect all shops to let you touch it.

we had two crappy experiances and that was it. both on our first day as well, so the overwhelming amount of shops we went to were awesome or at the very least, pleasant. early in our first day we got ripped off and sold some totally bunk hash. it was so hard i couldnt even chip it easily with my car keys. did have a good taste though.
then our last stop for the day before our day1 jetlag kicked our asses was the Rokerj by haarlemerstrat. i dunno if the guy who was in charge then was a higher up guy, but he was a total dick about following any rule, not what i came for. ill be respectful of any rule so long as it allows me to legally buy dutch weed, but this dude was excessive. yelled at me right off the bat for wearing a hat, and then got really pissed when i put my hat back on to leave before going outsde. i asked if i could have a cigarette on the porch area in front and he got all condescending about it and acted like i was some sorta asshole. btw, he was holding a lit cigarette while saying all this. fuck that guy, and thus, fuck his shop.
